Murphy sighed, his 5 o'clock shadow contrasting the dark bags under his eyes led passers by to know. He was tired.
Octavia had gone home to sleep and to pick up Raven for when she returned in the morning, Murphy however stayed put. The lights in the waiting room had gone out and he'd only just managed to convince the doctors to let him stay until Clarke was allowed visitors. He didn't didn't what was happening. Had she lost the baby?
Had she.. passed. He blamed himself for not pushing her to see the doctors, not to do regular check ups. It was all his fault in his mind, he wasn't there for her enough.
All these thoughts plagued what little sanity he still had, given his lack of sleep, he couldn't shake her from his mind or what possible state she was in.
Murphy had barely realised the lights ticked back on in the room, signalling that it was morning. His eyes flickering around the room, meeting with one of the nurses from the previous night."Murphy-Woods?" The nurse called, her eyes meeting his from across the room.
"Yes?" He groaned sleepily.
"I think she's ready to see you now."
With that, Murphy practically jumped to his feet, dashing over to he nurse as she gathered a small amount of things and led him away from the waiting room.
She led him down a maze of hallways, no one differing from the next. It wasn't until they entered a pink corridor, a small silver sign sitting on the wall that read 'LDRP'. Murphy's eyebrow cocked as they went down a narrower hall, the nurse stepping aside as she gestured down the hall. There sat Clarke, laying in bed as she shook slightly.
"Clarke.." Murphy cooed.
"Bellamy?" She whimpered, barely conscious as her head turned to the side.
"Murphy." She hummed."What happened, are you okay." He huffed, his eyes gently drifting to her arms.
His eyes widened as his chest dropped, as there, in her arms, laid a small baby.
"But.." He scofffed, sitting beside her. "There was still two months to go, how..""Twins often come early." The nurse cooed from behind, holding a second baby in her arms. "For now, they all seem perfectly healthy."
"What, twins?" He huffed, being given the baby. " you made two!" Murphy huffed, his eyes watering as he sat on the bed beside Clarke. He stared down at the baby, Clarke smiled as the nurse helped her sit up, she began laying with the baby in her arms.
"Eli.." Clarke cooed, Murphy's eyes lighting up as he looked to Clarke.
"Is it.." He stammered.
"A boy.." she nodded, smiling at her child. Murphy glanced over, the boy having a thick head of Black hair as he nestle towards his mother. "He looks just like his father." She huffed.
Murphy's eyes turned back down to the child he held, their eyes opening and meeting with his.
"That's Emma.""A boy and a girl?" He smiled, "hi Emma" He cooed, gently rocking the child in his arms.
