Months passed, Clarke and Murphy grew closer and closer as friends, even to the point of Clarke gradually 'moving in with him' as the weeks nearing her due date loomed around the corner, she almost never left his side.

"How you feeling?" Murphy cooed as he stepped into his room.
She laid on his bed, her hair longer than last time Bellamy was there and despite the six-month-pregnant weight, she was still rather underweight.

"Still sore." She sighed, rubbing her throat. "Any word from Raven?"

"Yeah, she.. she misses you." He shrugged, walking over and sitting on the floor beside her. He was at her eye level, she looked worried.

"It's all my fault." She sighed, she ha been beating herself up over their breakup since it happened. She thought it was because what she confessed to Raven, ignoring the underlying issues the two faced.

"No, it's not..." he reassured her, his hand reaching up and curling into hers.
It meant nothing to her, just a friend comforting her in a time of need, but to John, he felt it in his chest. His heart raced as his fingers intertwined with his 'friend'.
"He lied to her, she deserved better.."

"She deserves you." Clarke sighed, her eyes landing on Murphy's.

"No." He shook his head. "I won't treat her right.l

"You treat me right?" Clarke urged, sitting up as Murphy's attention turned to Clarke's stomach. She was probably larger than she should have been for a not yet third trimester. "You let me stay here, you help and support me. I couldn't ask for a better friend."

He nodded, sighing as he pulled his hand away. It wasn't a secret that Raven liked Murphy, the two connected on different levels. But nothing in comparison to how he felt for Clarke.

"Please, just one date." Clarke begged. "I just want you to be happy."

"I don't need a girlfriend to be happy. I have you."
Clarke smiled, leaning back down on his bed.

"I., would be lost without you." Clarke sighed. "You've done so much for me.. i.. I wouldn't even know how to repay you." Clarke chuckled.
Murphy smiled, looking to the floor and then meeting his eyes with hers.

"Before,.. before we continue on you telling me how great a friend I am.. can I say something?"

"Anything."

"Are you still waiting on him?"

"Bellamy?"

"Yeah, Bellamy.."

"I. I don't know, I mean. In four months I'll see him again." She shrugged, her heart thudding as the pain returned. Tears welled in her eyes but she forced them back, not daring to show that she still loved him more than her soul could allow.

"But.. do you still.."

"Look, I don't know how I feel, Murphy." She lies, shaking her head sideways. "I.. I'm having his kid."

"Oh, yeah." He shrugged, his heart snapping with every throb.

"What did you want to say?"

"Nothing."

"Murphy, I've been practically living with you for two months. You have a crib set up at the end of your bed." She chuckled, gesturing to the white painted crib that sat a mere few feet away.
"We share a bed, we tell each other everything." She explained. "I know when you're lying"

"Okay, But.." He sighed, sucking up his pride. "Before I tell you this, you need to promise this won't change anything between us."

"Murphy, you're scaring me."

"No, it's.. Clarke.." he began. "That's just it, I'm by your side all the time, I.. I need to know that it's not just me who feels this way."

"Murphy, are you saying."

"I think I love you, Clarke Griffin." He spat, interrupting her. "Ever since you came into my room at midnight right after you found out Bellamy left, I.. I just went to sleep to the rhythm of you heart and I haven't felt the same since."

"John.."

"No, please. Let me finish." He paused. She stayed silent, letting him make his peace. "I think I love you."
Clarke's face dropped slightly, Murphy's heart aching more and more every second of silence that passed. "Clarke?" Suddenly she looked to him in shock. "What-"

"Murphy, something wrong." She exhaled, clutching her stomach. "Please take me to the hospital."
