(I know how much you guys LOVE my time jumps ! Here's another one!) (P.P.S. I didn't realise just HOW MUCH I used the term 'cooed' like, my lord my vocabulary is so limited!)

Clarke let out an exhausted sigh, Emma had kept her up all night crying and Clarke had no idea as to why. Clarke had moved out of Murphy's bedroom, her mother setting her up in an apartment as soon as she found out about the babies Arrival, but having her own space didn't make anything much easier.
Emma always seemed to be upset or distressed, Abby advised her that it was normal, maybe she had been teething which was normal for a six month old, but nevertheless left Clarke with little to no energy.

Time seems to fly right by, it seemed like yesterday the twins were born, shocking Clarke and her whole family as she brought home not one, but two babies,
Emma and Eli seemed to be the happiest kids at the start, loving their new home and sharing the bed with mommy, but as time progressed Eli began developing as a normal baby, learning to sit and slide around on his own, all while Emma just cried.
She didn't seem to have much energy, Clarke assumed being frequently tired out from crying all the time, but she still worried about her little girl as she cradled her in her arms.

Two knocks let at the door, waking Clarke up from her oh so brief nap.
She looked around, realising everything was silent.
Emma stopped crying and little Eli was finally asleep. Clarke let out a sigh of relief, gently standing up and placing her daughter in the crib beside her brother, grabbing the baby monitor and stepping out into the hall.

Her apartment was lovely, brown wooden floor boards and blue painted walls with white trim, not to mention Clarke's simple style of baby proof furniture scattered about. It was enough to her.

Clarke sighed, opening the door and being met with Murphy.
He grinned, stepping in and immediately engulfing Clarke in a hug.

"What, What is it?" Clarke huffed as she pulled away from him, a gently chuckle as Murphy scooped out the house.

"The twins asleep?"

"Yes, what's wrong."

"Clarke, I've missed you.." He huffed, looking to his hands. "What the hell."
He exhaled, grabbing Clarke's cheeks as he pulled her into a kiss. Clarke stunned as he held her, her eyes shut as her body didn't know how to react. The two briefly had a thing after the twins were born, it ended after a short three months, Clarke knew after all this time, she knew she cared for him, but she could never be with him given how she still felt about Bellamy. He pulled apart from her, sighing as he looked her in the eyes. "I've been waiting to do that again for so long."

"Murphy." Clarke sighed, touching her lips gently. "I can't." She sighed, shaking her head.

Murphy's smile died as he broke eye contact. He cleared his throat, jabbing his chest as his throat tightened.
"I know, I. I'm sorry." He explained, shaking his head. "But I did it."

"Did what." Clarke asked, hoping to turn the tension away from the awkward kiss the two shared.

"I got the job." He smiled, returning to the same boyish exterior he hand initially walking in.

"You What!" Clarke called, excited as she faintly heard a baby's cry through the monitor.
The two froze, staring down the hall in silence for a few seconds, hearing as the cries stopped and the two quickly embraced in a long hug. "I'm so proud of you, Murphy." Clarke hummed to his shoulder as Murphy slightly lifted her from the ground.

He failed to mention his plans for that night, he had a dinner date with Raven and hadn't planned on visiting until he received the 'you're hired' letter, he didn't think he would let go the way he did when he saw her.

"I can't believe it," Clarke called as they pulled from the hug. "You're going to be a prison guard?"

"You make it sound so drab." Murphy's head hung to the side, "I prefer 'Inmate keeper'."
Murphy had been studying in hopes of becoming a police officer one day, to right his wrongs of the past, this meek job was a start, a foot in the door to his future career.
It was then the ear piercing cry boomed down the hall.
"Emma still not sleeping?"

"No, I think I should take her to the doctors." Clarke huffed, chewing on her nail as she stared down the hall, immense worry for her child crashing over her like a wave.

"I'll go check on her." Murphy insisted before trailing off down the hall.

Hours had passed and Murphy had gone home. Clarke was sitting on her couch, watching TV with Emma in her arms. A restless night for her again as she heard two knocks on the door.
Clarke looked down to her sleepy daughter, the facial resemblance between the two growing more and more uncanny as the days past.
She held the child lovingly in her arms as she made her way over to the door.

She opened it, finding an empty hall, she shrugged, going to shut the door when her eyes caught sight of something.
She froze for a second, creaking the door open as sat before her on the ground was a semi-wilted bouquet of flowers, and an envelope.
Clarke crouched, picking up the two with her free hand as she made her way isnide, placing them on the counter as she walked Emma upstairs to Clarke's bed and placed her down, tucking her in before returning to her kitchen.

She grabbed the envelope, her heart thudding against the inside of her chest, a lock turning in her throat as her mind immediately clicked.
'Clarke' it read, in the all too familiar handwriting.
