"Clarke.." Murphy Called as Clarke's don't door opens."Mm.." she huffed, barely paying attention as she curled little Eli's hair.
"It's been two weeks. Everyone's worried about you." He sighed, walking in and wrapping his arms around Clarke's waist, pulling her back towards his chest.
"Murphy.." Clarke sighed, she had been so emotionally weak and yet drained at the same time. It had been only a fortnight but it felt like years since she'd heard another persons voice, let alone feel their touch.
"Yeah?" He sighed back, nestling his head between her neck and shoulder.
"I.. I still love Bellamy."
She felt his body shrink, she could feel his heart rate accelerate and heard the pain in his tone.
"I know.""Then why do you keep doing this? You're hurting yourself.. you're hurting me."
His grip loosened on her as he took a step back.
"Don't start, Clarke.""Murphy-"
"No. You can't say you haven't felt something for me these past months. You can't say you don't love me."
"I do love you.." she sighed, turning and finally facing him. "But not the way I love Bellamy."
His body grimaced at the name. "Bellamy." He rolled his eyes. "Did Bellamy help you raise your kids?" His arms folded
"Murphy!" She tried again, but was interrupted.
"No, Clarke. Your whole pregnancy, I was there. Not him. Raising them, it was me. Not him. Even now, has he been there for you? For the twins? No." He wined, his body lightly trembling. "Why aren't I good enough for you?"
"Am I interrupting something?" Called another, calmer voice.
"Finn.." Clarke whispered, seeing him standing in the door with his arms crossed.
"Can you just piss off? We're talking here." Murphy groaned.
He stepped into Clarke's apartment, light brushing around his eyebrow and nose."I don't think Clarke wants to talk right now."
"And what do you know?" He scoffs, his eyes turning back to Clarke. "And where has he been?"
Finn's gaze shifted to the floor, showing his embarrassment before turning back and making eye contact with Clarke.
"It's a long story.." he huffed. "But you need to leave.""Do I now? So you're like what, my dad?"
"Don't test me Murphy."
"No. I don't have to listen to a word you say. I'm not leaving unless Clarke asks me to."
The room fell silent as all gaze slowly drifted to Clarke. Her mind baffled. What was so important about today? Why was everyone showing up today?"Murphy.. will you please let me talk with Finn.." Clarke said. "In private."shyly, a look of betrayal crossing his face.
"I don't need this." He groaned, a common occurrence for Murphy as he stormed out and closed the door.
"Clarke.. let me explain.."
"Oh I plan to." She states, folding her arms. "But first tell me why now? Why today?"
"What?"
"Apparently I've been secluded for two weeks, you've had ample time to see me.. why now?"
"A few factors fall into that.." Finn's eyes widen as the break her gaze. "I thought Bellamy was here with you."
"Why would you think that?" She said, more nerves in her voice than anger.
"Well.. he hasn't been home since.. well." He gestured ti his face, leaving Clarke with more questions than answers.
"He.. did that.. to you?" She questioned, lightly pointing at his slowly healing bruises.
His brows raised. "Nothing like brotherly love."
"But why.."
"I.. I crossed some lines. I'm over it now I just.. I hoped to come here and apologise to him.."
"To him? What about me?"
"That.. I had something different."
Clarke's brows raised again, her eyes glancing from him to the floor. She didn't know what to stay, so she stayed silent, her arms folded.
"I love you." He said. "I love you and I blew it. I know I had my chance and absolutely made a fool of you but.. I'm sorry. Not just for what happened as kids, I'm sorry for me ignoring you- and, and for dating raven and flaunting her in front of you. It was some misguided attempt for you to get over me and.. and well, get me over you.. I never should have done that to you and I know I have no shot at rekindling something with you.. but I want us to still be friends.. can you forgive me."A moment of silence passed, then without another word she walked up and pulled him into a loving embrace, her head resting on his shoulder.
"I could.. really use a friend right now.."
She felt his body sigh in relief as he cuddle her, his head nestling into her neck."I'll always be here for you." He mumbled, the two sharing a moment together as Clarke's mind started to wander.
So, where's Bellamy?
