Ch.22 The Beginning

ANTHONY'S POV.

I'm gonna pick up Gia today to kick it with 4 of my homies.

She's never met 3 of them but they are in the gang.

Gia told me she's at her tio Carlos's house so I'm gonna go there.

When I'm done getting ready I drive over there and knock on the front door.

"Hey what's up foo" Carlos says opening the door.

"Hey is Gia here?" I ask him. I knew him as one of the older homies before I met Gia.

But i never knew he was Gia's godfather and uncle.

"Yeah come in she's upstairs" he says letting me inside and I also see her other uncle and the other homie Danny.

"Hey foo what's up you want a beer?" Danny asks.

"Nah Gee I'm good" I tell him.

"Gia!" Carlos calls. "Hold on!" I hear Gia tell back.

"Where you taking her ese?" Carlos asks.

"Just gonna go kick it with the homies, have some beers" I tell them.

"Kick it where?" Danny asks.

"Gio's pad" I tell them.

They nod.

"Alright just don't take her to your pad foo she's still 17 years old I don't want you two to be doing shit" Danny says shaking his head.

"Foo" Carlos says to him.

"Nah I'm just saying someone gonna take our niece out or some shit I'm gonna be straight up" Danny says.

"Nah I understand trust" I tell them.

"Good, an look, we know why happened with her last little boyfriend, we wanna make sure that shit don't happen again and she don't get played, she don't need that shit, her moms, my sister, is in jail, her bitch ass dad is dead, she's always been like my daughter and I wanna protect her, and she don't need bullshit from another foo alright?" Carlos explains.

"I know I mean I know some of the shit she's been through an my intentions aren't to try and add to that you know what I'm saying?" I tell them.

They nod.

"Good better recognize" Danny says taking a drink of his beer.

"Hey" Gia says coming down the stairs.

I try to not completely check her out cause of Danny and Carlos but damn it's hard.

"Text me when you get home" Carlos tells Gia.

She looks back and nods.

"What did they say to you??" Gia asks curiously as we walk to my car.

"Don't worry about it mamas" I tell her with a smile. She smiles and rolls her eyes.

I drive to the homies pad and park in front.

I can already hear those foo's bumping music from the backyard.

I grab Gia's hand and we walk to the backyard.

I see them smoking and drinking.

"Aye what's up dog" Gio says.

"What's up, Gia this is AJ, Raul, and Remer" I introduce since she already knows Gio.

"I already know AJ but nice to meet you guys" she says in a friendly way.

"You do??" I ask. I didn't know that.

"Yeah dog she's the homegirl, we went to Highschool together foo" AJ says.

"I didn't know you two were together that's what's up" he says.

"Yup" I say as I look at Gia and smile.

I'm not worried about AJ's relationship with Gia. You like if they've messed around before or some shit like that.

He ain't the type of guy.

I remember Gia telling me she had a friend named Atancio which is what "AJ" stands for. Antancio James.

He HATES his name so ever since he was a kid he's been referred to as AJ.

But I didn't it was him Gia was talking about.

We start drinking and smoking and just kicking back.

I like how I can bring Gia with me to kick it with the homies.

She's just chill as fuck. And I love that about this girl.

She's sitting in her chair next to mine laughing at a conversation she's having with me and AJ.

I lift my arm to put it around her but she looks at me and flinches.

"Ha what are you doing?" I ask her wondering why she did that.

She just smiles and makes a small laugh then looks away.

But I look at her.

I know that if a guy puts his arm around a girl an she flinches, she's been hit before.

I do know about her ex Ricky. And how he hit her.

It's fucked up she had to go through that.

I'd never do that to her.

I mean, I ain't gonna lie, I've hit 2 of my ex's before.

But my relationship I had with them is way different than the relationship I have with Gia.

She brings out the good in me.

I hear a phone start to ring and it's Gia's.

"Hello?" She answers. "What??" She says and the look on her face completely changes.

"Since when?!...are you sure??...yeah, yeah okay...I'm with him right now do you wanna talk to him?...okay hold on..." She says then holds the phone to me.

"What happened??" I ask her. "Stacy's missing" she says. Me and the homies look at each other.

"Hello?" I say.

"Gunner where are you guys at?" Sleepy aka Stacy's dad's voice says.

"I'm at Remer's pad with AJ, Raul and Gio" I tell him.

"All of you come to the warehouse right now and I need you to bring the box" he says.

"The box?? Sleepy are you-" I start but he cuts me off.

The box is a rectangle metal box that has certain weapons in it that I can't get into detail about.

We NEVER use it unless it's for, well, war.

"Yeah I'm sure this is my daughter holmes, come now alright ese?" He says.

"Yeah alright foo we'll leave right now" I tell him then hang up.

"We gotta roll out let's go" I say standing up.

"What happened??" Raul asks.

"Sleepy wants us to go to the warehouse right now, you foo's go in one car and me and her will go in my truck I gotta stop at the pad real quick" I tell them.

"Alright G" Gio says.

Me and Gia get in my car and drive to my house.

"Who do you think took her?" Gia asks worried.

"I don't know mama" I tell her. She sucks in her lips.

I know she must be hurting and scared right now.

We get to my house and I run off the car really quick and get the box and I put it in the trunk of my car.

Then we drive to the warehouse.

We walk in there and see ALL of the home boys.

This really MUST not be good.
