GIA'S POV.

I'm going to Daniel's moms birthday party today and I'm excited and nervous.

I really want his family to like me and I hope I like them you know?

I told Daniel I would leave to his house at 3 so I only have an hour and a half to get ready.

I start doing my makeup then I sit at my vanity and start straightening my hair.

Once that's done I begin to change.

I put on a black spaghetti strap crop top, white high waisted shorts, a nude colored knitted cardigan, and boot heels to match.

I spray some perfume, grab my car keys and phone and go downstairs.

As I open the front door to go outside I see Manny and his homies standing on the sidewalk talking to 3 other guys.

One of them is Anthony.

They all look at me and I'm just confused and nervous.

"Come here Gia" Manny says aggressively as I slowly walk up to them.

It's awkwardly quiet besides the sound of my heels walking on the concrete but I can feel the tension.

"He gave you a black fuckin' eye right?" Manny asks me.

I look at Anthony for the first time since we broke up.

He gives me an apologetic look with guilt.

"I need to go" I simply say quietly.

But then Manny swings at Gunner and punches him in the face.

"You gave my sister a black fuckin' eye and now you can have one too mother fucker you can fuckin rot for putting your hands on my sister bitch get the fuck out of here" Manny tells him harshly and Anthony and his homies walk away to their car.

"Manny I told you not to do anything about it!" I tell him.

"The fuck you want me to do? You can't expect me not to do anything to him knowing he's the one that gave you that black fuckin eye" he says.

I sigh and nod.

He is right.

Anthony deserved it anyways.

"Where are you going?" He asks me.

"Daniel's house" I tell him.

"For what?".

"It's his moms birthday so they're having a party".

He nods.

He'll never be comfortable with me going to a boys house.

"Alright well I'm gonna kick it with these foo's, I'll see you later okay be careful" he says as him and his homies begin to go into the house.

"Okay" I say then get into my car.

When I drive to the house I text Daniel letting him know I'm outside.

I see him come outside and I get goosebumps from how bomb he looks.

He's wearing a black crew neck sweater except the sleeves are black leather, dark blue jeans, timberlands and a black and gray Raiders SnapBack.

I get off the car and smile.

"Hey" he says smiling as he wraps his arms around my neck and hugs me and I hug back.

"Are you nervous to meet my mom?" He teases as he grabs my hand intertwining our fingers.
