Ch.33 My Day

GIA'S POV.

Me and Manny have been on some awkward, tension filled terms EVER since that shit with my mom.

But I need to tell him AND Danny and Carlos how it is.

The three of them are already downstairs kicking it so I go down there.

"Hey what are you guys doing?" I ask sitting on the couch to the left of them.

"We're gonna go to the store right now and get some shit to BBQ and kick it with the home boys in the backyard" Manny tells me.

"Well before you guys leave I wanted to talk to you" I start and they all look at me.

"So first off Danny and Carlos you guys don't know this but mom had called us and asked me to go see her in jail" I start.

"What??" Carlos says.

"And I did, and she needed us, well me cause Manny said no, to get her money to this lawyer who is gonna help her with her case instead of Robert, and I did" I tell them.

"You already gave him the G's??" Manny says.

He didn't know that.

"How many fuckin G's?" Danny asks.

"Um, like, 10" I say in a uncomfortable way cause I know they're about to flip.

"10?!" Carlos and Danny say in unison.

"You gave a lawyer you don't even know 10 thousand dollars to supposedly help Veronica?" Danny says like I'm stupid.

"Probably ain't even a real lawyer" Manny adds.

I purse my lips.

"Gia, our sister has always got herself into fucked up situations and we always had to bail her out of it, the last thing we wanted was to see her do the same shit with her kids" Carlos tells me.

"Look, I know how you guys feel about this shit, but I all I wanted to do was tell you that that's what happened and I did what I did and if it blows up in my face then, I'll know better next time" I say to them.

Carlos sighs.

"Alright G" he says.

I smile and go back upstairs as they leave to the store.

Then my phone starts to ring.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey Gia what are you doing?" AJ asks me.

"Nothing just here why what's up?" I ask him.

"I know it's last minute but do you wanna do a shoot today?" He asks.

"A shoot for what?" I ask him.

"Villain clothing" he says.

Villain clothing is an underground clothing brand.

Everyone around the hood loves their stuff.

I know I do.

"Oh okay, yeah sure" I tell him.

"Alright I'll pick you up around 2:30 okay?" He says.

"Forsure see you later" I say then hang up.

That's in 2 hours so I start getting ready.

Since it's a photo shoot I do my makeup extra on point.

That takes up an hour.

I spend the next 45 minutes curling my hair into full thick waves.
