I Should Have Listened

I ran down the street, not stopping until I couldn't run for any longer.

All my thoughts slowly disappeared the farther and faster that I ran.

My heart now only beat fast from running so hard.

Same for my fast breaths.

I look around at my surrounding, trying to see where my feet took me.

It was the park...by my house.

The park brought the memory of Calum and his first attack.

The thought if my house brought the horrible flashback of all the blood.

Pushing everything to the back of my mind, I went over and sat down on one of the swings.

I started swinging lightly back and forth.

I forced my mind to go blank, to think of nothing.

Forcing myself to feel nothing, too.

I felt numb, both physically and mentally.

In the past week Ashton showed up, he broke into my house, he followed me, I was almost kidnapped only to be saved by Ashton, we ran from Calum a day later, Calum broke into my school, I snuck out of school with Ashton, I lost my dog, and now demons exists.

I'm only human, I can only handle so much during such a short period of time.

Sighing, I kick off the ground, going into a full swing.

The force of my swinging caused my loose hair to fly around.

The air was cold on my bare skin as I swung.

I lost myself in swinging and staring up at the night sky, watching the stars.

Suddenly, a small sound met my ears.

Digging my heels into the gravel, I quickly stop and listened for another sound.

Fear ran through my body.

"Bailey," My name was whispered eerily.

My blood ran hot as the fear crept over every inch of my body.

Why didn't I just listen to Ashton?

"Bailey," I recognized his voice.

Calum.

I slowly stood from the swing.

I did a full 180 around me, but didn't see anything.

Taking a few steps forward, my name sounded again.

"Bailey," Calum said in a sing-song voice.

He sounded happy, like he was having fun.

Fun scaring me half to death.

Fun slowly hunting me.

I turned around, facing the swing set, still looking for Calum.

Finally, his silhouette came into view.

I felt my heart race faster as he slowly walked towards me.

His features became easier to see as he got closer.

As he got closer, I took a step back not wanting to be close to him.

A smirk played at his lips.

I continued to step backwards until I tripped over the small curb keeping the gravel in one area.

I fell on my butt, putting my hands out behind me to catch my fall, but that only resulted in pain shooting up my arm.

A small yelp escaped my lip and I cradled my injured arm into my chest.

A small chuckle sounded from Calum.

He crouched down in front of me and smiled wickedly.

"Why?" I asked in a small voice.

He shrugged.

"My King wants you and I'm to deliver his wishes," Calum spoke.
He brought his hand over and stroked my hair.
I jerked back which only managed to piss him off.
He fisted his hand in my hair and pulled it harshly.
A whimper came from my lips and I sat as still as possible, afraid to move.
He loosened his grip slightly and smiled wickedly at me while his eyes went black.
He brought his free hand up and stroked my cheek gently.
I wanted to jerk away, but I didn't want to make him angry.
"I'm honestly sorry for what I'm about to do," He said as his eyes went back to a dark brown.
I wanted to ask what he meant but I soon learned.
He hit his fist into the side of my head making everything go black.

I awoke with a throbbing in my head and a heartbeat in my wrist.
Right away I could tell my hands were bound behind my back and that I was laying on carpeted flooring.
I tried opening my eyes, but a bright light blinded me.
Wincing in pain, I quickly felt eyes on me.
I froze.
"My Sleeping Beauty finally awake," An unrecognizable voice met my ears.
For a second time that night, my blood ran hot.
I heard two pairs of footsteps approach me.
"Wakey, wakey," A finger poked my forehead a couple times.
I rolled away from the hand and opened my eyes again to see two silhouettes crouching in front of me.
Letting my eyes adjust, I noticed a curious looking Calum on the left.
Barely looking at him, I shifted my gaze to the other boy.
He looked about Calum's age with short blonde hair styled up in a quiff.
His pale skin was outlined by the light behind him, his soft pink lips were curled up in a smirk, and when my eyes met his piercing blue ones, they were already trained on me.
"Nice to see you again, my Love."
