"When do you wanna... start?" Jane awkwardly whispered into Uta's chest, her whole body curled up against him after texting Arima she was okay.
While waiting for his answer, Jane's body felt heavy as if her skin was too thick on the bone, pulling her underwater as her ghoul held her close. To forget the sensation of numb limbs, she focused on the soothing sensation of Uta's fingers raking through her hair. Quickly, to comfort the human, he pulled her locks from the hair tie and played with each strand just as Jane liked it; after sex she would purr and moan in little whimpers as he did so.
"I have to go to Anteiku first... I need to talk to someone" Uta sighed.
"Talk to someone? About this? We can't tell anyone Uta" Jane immediately panicked before sitting straight up and out of the ghoul's arms. She felt her heart flutter erratically at the thought of exposure.
"Don't worry, it'll be fine".
With the heartfelt reassurance, Jane fell back into Uta and allowed his arms to cradle her body. While he silently carried the Investigator upstairs toward the bed, his mind ticked with possibilities... could he really make her?...
Some part of him clenched tightly at the thought however, it was covered and masked efficiently by his long expression.
"Don't worry, I'll be back soon" Uta comforted softly before his lips pressed to her forehead. The image of Jane suddenly vulnerably wrapped up on their bed pulled a weight onto Uta's shoulders.
Protection, food, money, love: all the things he needed to provide without the slightest idea of what being a father meant.
For a long while, the sadistic and savage ghoul crouched down beside his dove and idly pushed back the baby hairs falling onto her forehead.
Would their child's hair's be as fine? Would it be stark black or vibrant red? What kind of kagune would they have if any at all? Would they even survive?
Uta's fingers lingered over his girlfriend's face before finally pulling them back into a fist and storming down toward the shop. With his coat pulled onto his body and mask placed firmly over his face, the ghoul made his way to Anteiku in deadly swift movements like he possessed a ukaku. The wind slapped against his sprinting form while his mind rattled with thoughts he could barely portray, they weren't ready but the pain of losing the baby and the horrific process Jane had to endure made this the first and only chance.
When Jane first appeared ten years prior she was welcomed happily with a hungry stomach. However, what put the ghoul at odds with his dislike for change was the feelings that suddenly bloomed just as his muse disappeared.
He must've killed at least four girls from her school, matching all the same description as Jane until Yomo finally intervened. Without the white-haired ghoul, Uta's preferred type would've been clear.
He even witnessed the CCG pull together the portfolio himself.
The Investigator's concluded that unknown ghoul's victims were usually female with brown hair cropped short, light eyes, tall and were all students at Shinjuku High School.
Yet... he had to respect Jane's decision, the need to leave once the truth was uncovered. Uta was only thankful she returned.
Eventually, the ghoul was soon served coffee with Yoshimura: the manager of Anteiku. The air was serene against Uta's seemingly emotionless expression, it uncovered not a word as his eyes became dead against his contemplation.
"It must be important if you've come to me, Uta" Yoshimura announced, his voice low and thick as he spoke to the silently sadistic ghoul.
Uta certainly provided for Anteiku concerning his masks with no payment required, however, the non-killing owl couldn't respect the feeding habits made by the tattooed ghoul.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures" the mask maker smirked before sipping at his drink.
The scene was a strange one with binary opposites sharing a cup of warm coffee between themselves with questions painfully left unanswered. The kitchen was filled with yellow light of dim lamps and flickering car headlights that bled through the curtains, it held a soothing air that was soon disturbed.
"You're not typically one to fall so far without a fight. What is it you're here for?",
"Information" Uta simply stated.
"Specifics are needed to-",
"Information on naturally born half-ghouls".
The manager stilled, his cup halfway reaching toward his semi-pursed lips.
"I heard from Irimi you recently brought a human to Anteiku" Yoshimura said with the clatter of ceramic following his words.
"I don't need to spell it out-" Uta scoffed, "- you'll either help me or Anteiku is next up on the CCG's chopping board".
"Those are serious threats, Uta" the older man then almost growled, his eyelids slightly peeling up to reveal the menacing kakugans that sat behind them.
"One's I will happily go through with without your help".
No words could cut through the tension but Yoshimura's. Uta's body language spoke of an animal intent to kill if given no other choice, stiff with bloodlust as his crimson orbs clouded with the objective to protect.
"What have you got yourself into Uta?-" the old owl tutted in pity, "- the process of keeping the child stable are quite traumatic for a human mother".
"She knows what this means",
"Then I guess you want to know how much to provide?" Yoshimura assumed as he sat back.
"When she's started her second trimester, once a month should do, at least half an average sized body".Yoshimura had to wait a lengthy minute before Uta's bored features allowed his lips to curl into wide -slightly unhinged- smile like he wasn't use to the movement.
"How nice of you Yoshimura, keeping the balance between human and ghoul-" Uta said somewhat condescendingly, "- Jane and I deeply appreciate it".
