Maddy's POV

It was 6:00. My mother had woken me up. It seemed so normal, even though I haven't been doing this for a while.
I got up and changed into Ponyboy's sleeveless shirt, my leather jacket and jeans. Heeled boots completed the look.
For makeup, I put on my usual mascara with a thin line of eyeliner. I curled my hair into elegant twirls.
Remembering my school, I checked my pockets for my switchblade. It wasn't in there. Instead it was siting on my dresser. I left it there.

I walked down the hallway to wake the guys up. But when I reached the dining room, I realized that they were already up and ready to go. Steve didn't look to flattered that he had to get up at 6:30 in the morning to go to school. He hated it. Ponyboy looked curious more than upset.

"Morning, guys." I greeted them.

Steve have a low grumble. "Hi"

"Good Morning Beautiful." Ponyboy was so freaking cute I couldn't even.

"Oh my gosh, stop making my day." I kissed his forehead.

"Can't help it" he replied.

"So you guys are ready?" I asked.

"Yup" Steve said sternly and flipped out his switchblade. He put it back in his pocket. I grew cold.

"Steven Randle, you keep that here."

"Why? It's my knife."

"Well, if you show up to my school with that you'll get arrested. So leave it here." I demanded.

"Since when? That's so stupid." He put his knife down.

"Since assholes went into schools and stabbed their classmates." I shook my head. "Mom, where's Darry?"

"He's at work."

"What are the girls doing?"

"They're gonna meet us here and were gonna go together. Should be about-" we heard a car horn. "About now. Let's go."

I grabbed my backpack and headed downstairs. Pony and Steve followed.
As I saw, Dally, Two-Bit, Johnny, and Soda were coming to school to. Jordan with Dally, of course. Ava with Johnny and Two-Bit and Stina with Soda.
We got into my moms car and followed the other moms to the school. It took about 15 minutes to get there. I didn't mind the ride. It gave me time to finish homework or study last minute if I had to.

We piled out of the cars in front of the school and walked inside. I gulped. We have to get past the office first. I walked up to the front desk with everybody. A worker came up to us.

"What do you need dear?" She asked, looking at the guys.

"Uhm, could we please get visitor tags for these guys? They are from another state, and they were thinking about coming to school, but they'd like to see things first." That came out cooler than I thought I could say.

"Sure, just full out your names and everything." She pointed to the sign in sheet and walked off. The boys did so and we walked out into the hallway with our stickers.

"Wow, you aced that." Ava said.

"Yeah, I know."

"What are people gonna think about us now that we were missing forever and now were back?" Jordan asked.

"Who knows? Maybe they won't even notice. People are stupid here anyway." Stina replied. I laughed.

"That's true."

We walked into the gym. We had to wait here before the bell rang before homeroom. All 7th and 8th graders went in here.
People looked at us, but then they looked away like they didn't care. I shrugged and walked to the place we usually stood at when we waited.
Then, I literally screamed. My best guy friend, or my 'cousin' was standing there.
I gave him a big hug and the girls came over and did the same.
