Chapter 8: How Did They Do It?

With the girls and a famous artist gone again, investigations are getting no where. Agents try and dig up as much information as they can, but it leads them to dead ends. They don't know the power of book characters, or if they even die. In order to protect the country and the people, they are forced to run tests on them to see what they really are. But the girls were smart enough to disappear again before they were taken, and no one knows if they will ever return. The mystery has spread like a virus throughout the world and the media. Millions have tried to bring characters to life, but all have failed.
Many have wondered how it is possible to transport to a different world, let alone a book.

All remains but one question:

How did they do it?

Paul's POV

"The mystery remains, how do they do it?"

I clicked off the tv and sighed.

They better come back..

"Josh did they tell you about this?"

Josh was one of our school friends.

"No man, they can't just go around telling people. They have to just leave." He replied.

"Do you think that they will come back?"

"Eh, maybe. They could've died already."

"Ugh!" I groaned.

They will come back Paul - stop worrying yourself.

The FBI has taken many of the family members, searching for as many answers as they can.

Interrogations, Polygraphs.

"Did they speak to you about leaving?" Was asked.

"No" was replied, and yet the polygraph did not suspect any lying.

"Where were you on the night of their disappearance?"

"In my home."

"Do you believe that the hoax is real?"

"No, I do not."

"Have you seen the 7 boys before?"

"Never in my life."

"What were your children doing before they disappeared?"

"They were outside playing some sports."

Lie after lie, the interrogators believed everything. Eventually they let them go, with no evidence to prove that this was a real mystery. From what they know, they could just be kidnapped by the 7 boys who they showed up with just to hide it.

The case was never closed, and still waits to be solved. But a new case arises.

If the hoax doesn't prove to be true, where are the girls?
