Maddy's POV

It was a nice Saturday morning. Steve's date with Ellie went pretty well thanks to me and Darry. Well. I hope it did. Steve wanted to play the guitar for her, in which he knew nothing about.

"Comon Maddy, let me do it this once." He pleaded.

"Ugh fine." I gave him the guitar.

"Thank you!" He yelled, before running into the counter and knocking down the cake batter Darry had just made, spilling it all over his pants.

"Steve, clean that up, please." I pointed to it.

He took off his jeans and ran down the stairs "Sorry, gotta run!"

"Steve, for the love of god, put your-"

The door slammed and I sighed, cleaning up the mess he made.

Poor Ellie, she's going to get a rude awakening.. Her boyfriend (I'm guessing) playing a guitar in his underwear.

I shook my head at the memory, fixing my hair back. I decided on letting it go instead of curling it. My hair was usually straight with some waves.

I put on my plaid shirt with a white tank top underneath it, with a pair of ripped jeans.

Today, I decided would be a girls day, so we can do our usual gossip and fangirling without the burden of boys. Not that I minded them, really, but we all needed a day to ourselves.

I put my purse over my shoulder, my phone in my pocket, and walked into the dining room, waiting for my ride. Steve was sitting at the table, doing his usual thing - Eating chocolate cake. Sitting on the other side of Steve, Ponyboy had his head in a book. I don't know why that makes me nervous. I guess the fact that he is here and I'm here is because of a book, and I don't want everything going wrong again. As long as it isn't The Outsiders, and if we don't read anything aloud, I think we'll be fine.

"Whatcha reading, Pony?" I asked

"Harry Potter." he replied. "Stina doesn't shut her trap bout it, so I wanna see what's so special."

"I'm reading that too.. So i'm assuming you got that from my room."

"Yup."

I sat down on the recliner and turned on the tv. One of the movie channels were on. I decided that I should watch them while they last, since they aren't always free.

There was a movie on that I hadn't seen before. It looked pretty good. It was about gang violence in the 1960s.

Wait.

No. This just must be similar to The Outsiders. It can't be it.

It was right on the hour, 10:00, so it was the start of a movie.
There was a boy on there. Funny, he looked a lot like Ponyboy, but he had blonde hair. He was writing in a notebook. I gulped when I noticed what he was writing. It said "The Outsiders" and it started out just like the book.

No.

Part of me didn't want to watch, but part of me did.
Well. That part won, and I'm watching the tv intently. I really hope Steve doesn't start watching, because then he's going to get curious and everyone's gonna want to watch it and our lives could possibly get ruined. I don't know the power of the movie, only the power of the book

It went on just like the book, Ponyboy leaving the movies, and, oh god, getting chased by the Socs.

I looked over quickly, and he was still reading Harry Potter. I breathed a sigh of relief and turned back.
Now he was getting grabbed by the Socs.
