It's just as warm as yesterday this morning. Even if we're close to changing seasons, the microclimate in the African country stays the same almost always. It feels like paradise here, too good to be true.

Life in general feels too good to be true.

Bucky and I live in the outskirts of Birnin Zima, on a little farm we've set up. Although I don't spend most of my time here. I'm usually hanging around the castle or the Dora Milaje base, as I am the head nurse of the female warriors' squad. They even gave me a vibranium ring that beeps and shines every time I'm needed. It basically does the same function as the Kimoyo beads, but they couldn't give me the latter one, as I'm not Wakandan.

What I find strange is that it hasn't beeped this morning.

That's usually what wakes me up, and if it doesn't, Bucky does instead. But nobody did today. When I eventually stop sleeping, Bucky is already working outside.

"C'mon little sucker..." I hear him mutter to one of the goats that doesn't seem to want to obey. He's carrying a sack of seeds over his right shoulder. He insisted on working after we fully recovered from our hibernation, and I have to admit that he does an impressive job for a man who's missing an arm, considering he takes care of heavy lifting.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I walk out of the cottage as I ask him once he puts down the sack.

"You didn't get called in." His half bun has come undone and now a few hairs fall over his face. "I thought you could use some sleep."

I smile and put the hairs away from his face. "Well, thank you." I lean in to give him a kiss but he turns his head before our lips can meet.

What?

"Your Highness." He says looking behind me and I turn around as well to find T'Challa and Okoye walking in our direction followed by two kings guards carrying a chest.

I nod to the king and wave at the warrior standing next to him. "Hi, Okoye. What's up?"

"I'm afraid what brings us here is not good news." Says the monarch as the two men behind him bring the chest forwards until it is in front of us. Inside, there's a vibranium arm, designed for Bucky, I presume, as well as an armor for me and fire guns.
