70 Days Of Summer

Day 12

I wake up pretty late and in my bed after arriving home at 12 am. I went straight to bed and now it's 11 am. I stumble out of bed and into Cassie's room to see if she is awake and wants to hang out. Her room is a mess, and the bed is empty and unmade but a note is left on the bed. I pick up the note and start to read,

Hey! I'm at the mall with Maddie, will be back in afternoon. Left some money for lunch! Bye!

That's strange. Cassie hanging out with Maddie? isn't she like 2 grades below her and all prissy and pink, not like Cassie who is chill and go with the flow. Whatever! I decide to call Paige and when she picks up I explain what happened in Oklahoma.
" damn! That must burn. Well, tell her I say sorry" says Paige apologetically.
" I would but funnily enough, she is out shopping with.... Maddie" I say surprisingly.
" Maddie in 10th grade, Maddie?" Asks Paige quizzically.
" yep" I say normally.
" hey, your talking in a normal accent again. I guess you were let out early. How does being ungrounded feel?" I ask excitedly.
"Well, pretty good but it's kind of boring when my best friend is having fun in Luxembourg shooting a video but now that the trip is cancelled, I feel kind of great. Bryan and I met up yesterday, we went to a movie and spent the whole day together. I told my mum I was going to the library! Oh and I memorized 7 Scottish hymns and the whole bible so I am let out early, but I have to attend church class every Sunday," Says Paige.
" oh, so maybe that your best friend is back you might want to go to lunch or hang out with her. Maybe you guys could...plan your birthday which if I am correct is in 3 days," I suggest hinting that we go out today.
" ok,ok! How about the Indian place opposite your house, and I will head over now, we hang out, and then we have lunch and I go home," Paige says cooly. Suddenly she burst into a squeal,
" oh my god! Catalina is coming back tomorrow! Yay!"
" I totally forgot! I can't believe it! It's been 2 weeks already! Time goes fast! " I giggle.
" okay, bye! See you in 20! " Paige says clicking off the phone.
I brush my teeth, pull on a purple paisley jersey dress, and eat a bowl of honey loops. Paige knocks on the door and I open it.
" hey" I say hugging her and slamming the door shut.
" hey back" she says smiling a lot. She is wearing a pale pink t-shirt tucked into denim shorts and a large lime green belt on top with lime green ipanema slippers, and lime green bow headband.
We talk for a while and do what we normally do. Talk,make jokes, gossip and then head out for lunch at 1. I leave a note for Cassie, telling her I'm at lunch. We order some food and start talking about her party.
" so, home party or somewhere else?" I ask sipping my coke through the straw.
" maybe a park" Paige replies casually.
" ok, any theme?" I ask biting my straw.
" well I'm thinking some balloons, picnic with juice and sandwiches and other goodies. Pin the tail on donkey, hide and seek in the woods. Nothing crazy, besides I'm lucky that I'm even allowed a party after the you know, that situation," mutters Paige. The food comes and we start talking about Catalina coming back and how we will surprise her.
" well, I guess she just wants to hang out, if she is allowed. I heard she ran away with a boy and stole a boat and they found her and she is like totally grounded," says Paige interestingly.
" really? I heard that she and a guy got on a plane and are now living in Galapagos island," I say fakely.
We burst out laughing because the stories are fake. Catalina is always getting In trouble, she is like the bad girl of the grade, the flawless, tall, skinny girl that all the boys fall for. We finish lunch and then Paige catches the bus home. I walk into the front door and immediately hear giggling coming from upstairs.
"Hello" I call up the stairs.
Maddie comes running to the banisters in a la perla pale purple lingerie set and squeals,
" hey Clara! Cassie and I are just trying on the clothes we bought!"
I walk up the stairs and Cassie comes running out in a army green tank top and underwear.
" Maddie and I are going for a party tonight! Come on" she says pulling Maddie into her room.
A party?
I walk into her room and see 2 extremely short and inappropriate dresses lying on her bed.
" a party?" I ask confusingly noticing 2 beer bottles on her desk, one which Maddie is drinking from.
" yah, you'll be alright home alone," says Cassie slipping into one dress.
What is her dress? Is it even a dress? It's like a tight black dress but it's barely covering her body. It's a a cross cross design but the empty spaces are open exposing her bare skin. It's like one thick line of black material from hip to shoulder and another from the other hip to shoulder and bare skin in between. There are more lines but the majority of it is bare, and it covers half of her bum. I see Maddie wearing a weird Aqua blue halter neck suit thing wear her chest is covered, then there is a line of right material through her tummy, exposing her flat stomach, covering her bum and front and then material covering a small part of her thigh and fishnet tights in Aqua blue. I walk out not wanting to see more. What are they wearing? Ugh! I shut my room door and read 'Macbeth' until 5 when I shower. I have dinner with Cassie and Maddie before they leave and I can't believe what Cassie is wearing. Her shoes are serious lady gaga style! Like 10 inch boots with diamond studded heel and spikes sticking out of the boot. My mouth drops and Cassie says matter-of-factly,
"Maddie bought it for me."
They say bye and I call paige to tell her what happened. I read for awhile and go to bed at 9. Early night!
