Chapter 21

Sultan
"where the hell did you go to without my permission?" I asked the girl immediately she opened the door

"Why was i even angry?" I don't know but seeing how she was all smiling and being happy with Mus'ain is killing me,

"Sir Mus'ain asked me to follow him" she said stammering in every word she said

"And is that how you're free with any man that comes your way? I had to ask because that's how she does with Haidar and even the guy that picks my laundry,

She turned her head indicating no and I didn't even know what to say say to her because i saw hear wiping a tear,

"Was i too harsh on her?" I mentally asked myself

"You scared the shit out of the innocent girl" my inner voice said to me that I didn't even know when I blurted "sorry",

She immediately looked up at me and I blurted out again "sorry I snapped at you", she looked at me and said it's okay without even smiling but i see her smiling to other people why cant she smile when i do something good to her?

"Sleep well" I instantly said and left, "what is wrong with me?"

"C'mon Sultan you came in time for it at least attend it this once mana its a good opportunity to meet old friends" Mus'ain begged for the thousandth time today

"You know i had no friends right?" I asked and he nodded "but still"

I just rolled my eyes and focused on the movie i was watching,

I didn't even know we came in time for the annual get together for ex students of the university I graduated from and he wanted me to go,

All they do is judge people and see where you've gotten in life and I'm not interested in seeing any of them,

The first and only time I attended was the last time i came to London 3 years ago and it was a very annoying experience because one of the ex student wanted to use that opportunity to propose to his girlfriend but the caterer brought the cake where the ring was inside to our table and Ayush taught i was the one proposing "eww"

"Can i take Jadwa as my date please" he asked and I felt a slight jealousy before I agreed because I don't want him to get any wrong idea

"Thanks man" he said giving me a light punch on the shoulder

"Whatever, its not that i feel anything for her anyways" I mentally told myself

I saw something flashes in his eyes yesterday when he was scolding me which made him stop immediately and apologized,

"Jadwa we're going somewhere very important" Mus'ain said before i even got time to process what he meant by that he dragged me down to the elevator,

"Lafiya?" I asked before we entered the elevator

Then he smacked his forehead before whispering a quick sorry then he knelt as if he wanted to propose and he held my hand

"Jadwa" he called " will you be my date to a very important reunion?" He asked and I couldn't help the laugh that escaped immediately he said those words

"Seriously" he said and i just nodded because he was just too adorable, if I'm not cautious I might start loving him which is a very wrong thing to do in my present situation,

The one and only secret I'm hiding from everyone including myself is the fact that i fell for Sultan the very first time i saw his angelic side which was something i just saw once throughout my stay in the palace and I cherished that memory at the back of my mind because i was way out of his league and obviously have no chance and the worst thing is that to him i was just a filthy maid that have no right over her own life,
