NIKKI'S POV

"Barbara. Have you already book a flight for me?" Tanong ko kay Barbara na nasa harapan ko.

"Yes, Miss. Your flight will be this afternoon at 2. Is there anything else I can help you, Miss?"

"For now, Barb, please arrange all the documents I need to sign once I got back from Canada. I will be staying there for 3 days. I will have to leave some appointments to Carlotta while I'm still in Canada to talk to the employees."

Kailangan ko talagang kausapin nang personal ang mga empleyado ko sa Canada since halos lahat sila ay na trauma.

"Alright, Miss." Aalis na sana si Barbara pero tinawag ko siya ulit.

"And oh, I almost forgot." Kinuha ko ang paper bag na nasa paanan ko lang at inilagay sa lamesa. "Happy Birthday in advance. This is for you."

Lumaki ang mata ni Barbara at dahan-dahan na kinuha ang paper bag.

"W-what's this, Miss?"

"Oh, It's a tour package for 4 persons to France, for a week. You don't have to pay anything. Accomodation, foods, plane tickets are included. You also have pocket money inside the bag. You know, for extra expenses when you got there." Walang halong emosyon na sinabi ko kay Barbara.

I treat my loyal and efficient employees but I always hide my inner emotions to them. Ayaw ko kasing na dahil sa pinapamigay ko ay aabusuhin nila ako.

"And I already filed your leave and approved it for a week since your birthday will be 2 days from now. You can check it on your email." Sabi ko habang pumiperma parin ng mga papeles.

Napansin kong hindi siya gumagalaw kaya tinignan ko siya.

Teary-eyed na siya at na shock parin.

"Barbara, Hey. You're welcome. You can go now." Sabi ko at dali-dali niyang kinuha ang paper bag at lumabas ng office ko. Pag kasara ng pinto narinig ko siyang tumili kahit nakasara na ang pinto.

Napangiti nalang ako.

Maya-maya pa nagring ang cellphone ko.

"Bran. How was it?"

Narinig kong nagbuntong-hinga siya sa kabilang linya. "We have to talk in person. Calde's restaurant. Later at 1pm." Sabi ni Bran with his british accent.

"I can't, spill the beans now. I have a flight at 2."

"I can't just discuss this to you on the phone."

"Well then, Let's see each other after 30 minutes. I'm on my way."

"Don't bring anyone else, Miss Moore."

"Alright." I grab my bag at sinabihan si Barbara na babalik lang ako.

Nagpunta akong parking lot at nandon si Philip na driver ko nakaantay sa kotse.

Sumilip muna ako sa bintana.
