Shorter never meant to get caught up the way he did. He just wanted a different life away from all the gang activities and that so happened to be with Y/N. What happens when Y/N finally finds out? How was such a man suited for the things he did?

"Yeah, he was also at the hospital. Kane's brother fucking works for him." You sighed.
"Maybe running into him is a sign." Aubrey shrugged.
"What kinda sign is that? That death is coming to me sooner than I thought?" You plopped down onto your bed removing your mascara.
"Nooo, like maybe you and Shorter were meant to be in each others lives."
"Yeah, no thanks, when I said I wanted a little action I didn't mean this." You rolled your eyes.
"I'd much rather be with someone with a legal job that doesn't involve violence."
"Understandable."
"Are you staying over?"
"Yeah I don't have any plans tonight." The two of you sat and watched movies for the rest of the night until you fell asleep.
The next morning you woke up to the sound of banging at your door. You rushed to answer so it wouldn't disturb anyone else.
"What the hel-" you started angrily, but froze when you saw the scene before you.
Sing and Eiji were holding Shorter up. His shoulder was wounded and his neck looked like it was grazed with a bullet. Silently you stepped out of the way.
"What happened?" You looked at Shorter sadly.
"I got shot by some guys, but its okay now." Shorter groaned in pain.
"The hospital is too far and we need to tend to his wounds now." Eiji added. You ran off and came back with some supplies that could be useful. You watched as Eiji and Sing patched Shorter up.
"I'll get some pain meds." You announced. Shorter took them dry and chased them with water.
"I'm sorry.." Shorter apologized.
"It's okay. I'm glad you're okay." You crouched down beside him.
"I probably bled on your couch I can get you a new one."
"Don't worry about it." You don't know what took over you your hand was instantly in his hair. It was damp, but you didn't mind that.
"Y/N, could you sleep with me?"
"My bed is taken over right now..." you didn't know how Aubrey was still sleeping.
"I can bring a blanket and sit here with you." You did just that and sat next to Shorter letting the male rest his head on you.
Aubrey soon emerged from your room with a look of shock. She smiled to herself like she had accomplished something. After grabbing her belongings she waved and was off.
You ended up taking care of Shorter until he was able to move his arm better. Having him around wasn't as bad as you originally thought. You hadn't even realized you missed him so much. After another week or so he was back and in business.

"Are you down for clubbing tonight?"
The club was relatively large and had the hugest line you've ever seen. A guy walks out and spots Aubrey and lets you guys in. Instantly Aubrey went to get a drink. You looked around a bit Shorter close behind glaring anyone down that dares look at you. Aubrey calls the both of you over and in front of her are multiple shots.
"Free drinks anyone?" She hands you two. Shorter takes it upon himself to down 4 in seconds. You follow with your two as Aubrey cheers taking two as well.
"This is what it's like to have connections." Aubrey was already pretty plastered and you were a little more than tipsy.
"Shorter let's dance!" You grabbed him and took him to the dance floor. The two of you were goofing off together.
Shorter was so close that you could feel the heat radiating off him. His skin was damp and your mind began to wonder. Suddenly he was closer and you felt your lips touch.
