🐕New Edition🐕
Puppy this. Puppy that. You and Shorter were tired of hearing about this puppy business. Ever since you had taken Jian to the opening of the new pet store he had been asking for a dog.
Of course you wanted one as well, but a lot of work went into taking care of one. After figuring some things out while Jian was at school you decided to get one. When it was time for Shorter and Jian to get home you put the puppy in Jian's room.
"Why can't we get one? I can take care of it and the place isn't that far from here." Jian argued as he walked in with Shorter.
"We'll get one some other time just not now," Shorter gave you a discreet thumbs up and walked into the kitchen. Jian was being pouty a habit that probably wouldn't break any time soon. He dropped his bag next to the door and quickly ran to his room.
"MOM!" Jian yelled. You could hear his hurried footsteps as he ran into the kitchen the puppy following behind the excited 9 year old.
"Are we keeping it?" You nodded. Jian squealed and hugged you.
"What are you going to name her?" Shorter appeared.
"Umm Shiloh!" He decided rather quickly.
"I'll take you to get dog stuff for her tomorrow after school, okay?"
"Thanks mom, thanks dad,"
The both of you smiled as you watched Jian play with the puppy on the patio an old ball of his in hand.
"That isn't the only new edition to our family." You smiled up at Shorter. His face went from confused to surprised and happy.
"Looks like Jian won't be an only child anymore."
