You forgot about staying at work later as you normally did. Today you made it back to your apartment with the quickness. You anxiously opened your door and slowly made your way in. You let go of the breath you had been holding upon seeing Shorter laid out on the couch.
"I'm home." You smiled relieved.
"Hey baby," he sits up letting you sit next to him. You notice his swollen and bloody hand.
"What happened?"
"I got into a fight." He pulled his hand away from you wincing a bit.
"You had me so worried all day I thought you were gonna get shot at, stabbed up, break something.." you kept listing off bad things that could've happened.
"Baby, I don't just shoot at people all the time even though its much easier, but there was a group of kids acting rowdy and I had to straighten them out." Shorter pulls you in tight and rests his head on your shoulder.
"That's against the law." You laugh mischievously.
"Yeah I'm aware..." He closes his eyes to which your smile becomes bigger.
"That means I'll have to arrest you." You move from his grasp and stand making him lay on the couch. You take this as an opportunity to sit on top of him
"What did I do to deserve this." Shorter groans from beneath you.
"You broke the law buddy and these are the consequences." You felt Shorter shift so now you were no longer sitting on his back, but his stomach.
"Well if these are the consequences I'll have to break the law more often."
"You're such a flirt." You lightly slap his arm.
