Remus and Logan were behind the school they both would rather have forgotten about. But they were there, for some reason.
They started hanging out after the night on the bridge, if you classified hanging out as talking for a few minutes while doing something completely random together.
They both leaned against the back wall when the conversation died and each of them were stuck in their own heads.
Remus was intimidating, as Logan had expected, but he wasn't like Roman had described. Then again, Remus was a lot worse in high school.
"Logan."
The name snapped Logan out of his thoughts. He was about to say, "Roman?" But he remembered.
But Remus sounded just like Roman then. For just a split second.
Logan, heavy hearted, leaned his head back on the wall. "Yes?"
"Is it weird if I rant about Roman for a second?" He reached for his box of cigarettes, but paused, and folded his hands instead.
"It's... It's okay."
"Okay... Uh, I'm glad you don't hate me. At least not as much as you probably did earlier." He laughed dryly. "Y'know, it's funny. Having this whole thing happen is just... It brings back shit I wanted to forget. Something really cool my parents did when we were kids was introduce Roman to other people as their son after tricking me into going a different direction so people wouldn't know they were my parents. That's why I'm so much gayer than him. I came out earlier, and my parents added another reason to their list of reasons to hate me. Roman didn't come out before he was able to live alone because then he wouldn't be my parents' precious baby boy anymore."
Logan looked over. "Sorry. I had no idea."
"And back when we went to summer theatre camps where kids didn't have to audition to put on a shitty production, my parents always signed Roman up to have a big role and put my name under ensemble. I used to love theatre, but my parents told the director I had stage fright and just wanted to be on stage for a little while just to get used to it a bit more. That was a fucking lie. One year, I played a fucking chair. It's why I quit theatre. Stopped singing, stopped dance classes."
"You could have started again in college. Or now, that you're not under their control anymore."
"I'd have to redo years of training. I can still kind of tap. I can still sing well. But I just gave up. I don't like theatre anymore because I still get compared to my triple threat twin."
"I added to that, I believe?"
"Kinda. That's why I got so pissed at Patton when he made up with Roman. Patton was the only person I could talk to in high school."
Logan eased into the conversation and they talked, like almost-friends. Remus was still a bit strange and unusual, but Logan could get past that.
They were all a bit out of their element recently.
Ever since June 2nd, Logan was alone in the bubble he made for himself.
Maybe he could finally let someone in again.
