"Who made this?"
"I dunno, but it's delicious!"
"Why in Hylia's name would you just eat something you found lying in the ground?"
"It looked good. It's not my fault that I'm hungry."Wild was woken up by voices, but he didn't open his eyes. Instead, he just listened. He heard Wind talking and eating at the same time.
"Who ever made this is a really good cook."
Wild smiled. Since they obviously didn't know who made the food, he knew that Wind's compliments were genuine.
"I'm not so sure about this. It seems awfully suspicious."
"Of course it does, Legend. It's not killing me, so why don't you try some?"
"Hmm... fine."Legend took a bite and made a satisfied noise.
"Mmmm. Good."
"Yeah, that's what I've been telling you this whole time."Then Twilight spoke.
"What are you guys talking about?"
"This food. Did you make it?"
"No. I might be able to tell if I have some."
Twilight then presumably took a bite.
"Tastes good. Let's see, I know Wild is good at cooking."He smiled again. Maybe he should get up. He sighed.
"Agreed. He is good. I'm gonna ask him."
"Wind, wait, he's asleep-"Before Twilight could finish what he saying, Wild felt Wind shaking him.
"Ugh..."
"I wanna ask you a question."
"What is it..."
"Okay, one, did you make the food, and two, are you just being too lazy to sign, or have you suddenly decided to talk?"
"Yes and I'm too lazy."
"Oh. I really like the food. It tastes anazing!"
"Uh... thanks."
"Also, your voice is kinda funny."
"Really?"
"I don't mean that in a mean way. I like it. It just sounds like you don't talk a lot. I mean, that's kind of a given, but aren't there people that don't know Hylian Sign?"
"Yes."
"Yeah, that's what I thought. So do you talk normally to them? Have you ever had a full conversation?"
"You could call it that."
"Really? Do you talk like you are now? Like, not saying much or going into detail or anything?"
"I guess."
"I'll take that as a yes. So, do you ever-"
"Wind, quit bothering him."
"Sorry. I have one more question to ask, though."
"Yes?"
"When did you make the food?"
"Last night."
"When last night? I didn't see you making any food. You were just lying on your sleeping bag looking dead inside."
Wild laughed a little, now sitting up. Wind didn't know what he was saying. But... he couldn't deny it.
"All of you were asleep."
"So it was night night."
"Yes."
"Like, really dark night."
"Yes. Very late. I shouldn't have been up that late."
"Yeah, but I bet it was cool."
"Heh. Not as cool as you think. The reason wasn't that great. Couldn't sleep. Just... thinking."
"Oh. Well, I'd still like to do that."
"What's stopping you?"
"Uh... nothing. Well, Tetra- I mean, Zelda is. She doesn't let me stay up late cuz it's 'irresponsible.' She's only a year older than me."
Wind crossed his arms and pouted.
"Well, nothing's stopping you here. Not me, at least. Company'd be nice."
Wind smiled. "Okay!"Wind looked down at the ground around Wild's sleeping bag.
"Wait, you didn't make anything for yourself?"
"Ate something when I made the food."
It wasn't a complete lie. He did try a little of each dish to make sure it was good. It wasn't much, though. It was still enough to him, though.
"Oh. Well, that's good."
Wind's concern made him feel a little guilty for lying, but he just shook his head a little to try and get rid of the thought. It felt like he had talked enough for the whole week, even though it hadn't been that much.
"So," Wind asked, "Why don't you talk? Is it cuz of something that happened to you? I heard of someone that didn't talk because something they said ended up getting a guy killed. Was it something like that?"
"... I... don't actually know."
"What do you mean?"
"I guess I'm afraid I'll let something slip. I don't like talking about my story... it's... well, let's just say that some stuff happened that I don't think you need to be thinking about. Lots of........d e a t h....."
"Oh. You don't need to talk about it if you don't want to."
"Thank you for understanding. It's hard to think about."
Wind nodded slowly. He was being very serious now, not joking like he normally did.
"I'm sorry, I brought the mood down, didn't I?"
"What? No, it's fine."
"It's not fine. I do that so often, and I don't have any business making everyone sad. I should probably go now, otherwise it'll just be awkward. You guys... have fun."
"What? Wild, you don't need to leave..."
Wind didn't finish his sentence before Wild was gone.He looked in the direction Wild had walked off in for a moment before turning back to Twilight.
"Why does he do that? Blaming everything on himself, I mean?"
"He... well, I guess it has to do with his story."
"He must have had a very upsetting story, then, for him to act like this."Wind paused before commenting,
"He acts like he's bad, but he isn't. And I'm gonna tell him that he isn't, and if he says that he is, I'm gonna make sure he changes his mind."
Wind stood up with a determined look on his face, his fists clenched.
