"C'mon, wake up! Wake up, dammit!"
"Wind, calm down. He's fine."
"No he isn't! Do you see him? He's shaking like crazy. He's practically vibrating!"
"That's an exaggeration."
"Show some concern, will you?"Wild sat up straight, breathing heavily.
"Aah! What happened? I-I remember dying, it felt so real, I- oh....."
He put his head in his knees, sobbing. Wind glared at Twilight.
"I told you something was wrong!"Without warning, Wild quickly looked up.
"I'm sorry... shouldn't have done that."
"Shouldn't have done what?"
Wild muttered something unintelligible. "... rmmbrd mdth..."
"What?"
"Nothing. You don't need to know. I just... I'm a failure..."
"What are you talking about? You aren't okay, are you? I told you that you can tell me if something's wrong."
"Nevermind. You wouldn't be able to help. It's complicated. And stupid."Wind said nothing, just looking at Wild with a confused expression. Wild sighed. He stood up and walked away. He stopped at the edge of the shelter, looking out into the rain. He sighed again, rubbing his eyes.
He stepped out into the rain and stood there, letting himself get wet. He sat down cross-legged and rested his chin in his hands.
"Wild, what's wrong?"
"I'm fine. Shut up."
Wind was wondering why he wasn't bothering to sign, but he didn't ask. It was probably that he didn't want to turn around.
Twilight assumed the same thing. They were both worried about him, concerned about his wellbeing. Of course, Wild didn't think they cared about that. He didn't even care much about it himself.Wind moved to go over to Wild, but Twilight stopped him.
"Give him some space. He obviously wants it."
He knew why Wild was upset. It was his death.Eventually, Wind got bored of watching Wild and left to go talk to the others. That was what Twilight wanted. He had something to talk about with Wild.
"Hey, Wild?"
"Yes?"
"What happened?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, what happened earlier? Why did you pass out? Why were you talking about Zelda?"
"Stop. Slow down. Too many questions. One at a time, please."
"Right. Sorry. Why did you pass out?"
"I remembered... something."
"Can you describe it?"
Wild hesitated, then shook his head."Was it when you died?"
"Ye- wait, how do you know about that? I haven't told anyone."
Wild turned to face Twilight, confused and suspicious.
"Oh. Shoot. Well... a friend told me..."
"Who was that friend?"
"I don't know if she'd like me telling her business."
"Oh. Well, I'll tell you, then."Wild turned around completely.
"Wait, first, get out of the rain."
Wild moved to right inside of the the shelter and lifted his hands to sign.
"I heard the rain and guardians. I felt like I couldn't stand anymore. It really hurt right here-" he motioned up and down his torso- "right where my scar is. I fell, then I heard a loud sound and all I saw was brightness, then I heard Zelda yelling my name. Then I guess I passed out."Twilight nodded.
"So that's what the memory was like?"
"Sort of."
Twilight didn't ask anything else. He figured that Wild probably wouldn't want to talk about it any more.●●●
"Hey, how old are you? I know it's a weird question to ask, but I'm curious. I've been wondering for a while, because you act kind of like Twilight, maturity-wise, but you look fourteen."
Wild chuckled at the question, partly out of nervousness, and partly because the wording was funny. Mostly because of anxiety. How should he answer Legend's question?
"No, I'm... older than you think."
"Oh. That's vague."
"Let's just say I'm seventeen."
"Weird way to answer that, but I'll take it. So, what's your Hyrule like?"Wild hesitated before answering, "It's... big. It's big. Huge. And... dangerous."
"All of them are dangerous."
"One hit kills?"
"What? No."
"Bokoblins do that. Almost."
"Really?"
"Yes. They're tough."
"So that's why you keep coming here half-dead."
"Well, one time it was group of assassins, but yeah."
"Assassins?"
"Yup. Trying to kill me. I went into their base once and killed the leader. Well, I didn't do much. He essentially accidentally killed himself."
"Wow."
"They're kind of dumb for trained assassins."
"They can't be that stupid."
"They can. They definitely can. They aren't as stupid as me, though."
"You're smart!"
"I'm really not. Stop trying to make me feel better."
"Sorry. So, were these assassins trying to kill Zelda, too?"
"Yes. Both of us, actually. They still are. I think."
"Huh. Have you ever had to save her from them?"Wild froze up and looked at Legend. Instead of signing, he spoke.
"Uh... I have to do something. Bye."
He stood up and waved a small wave before quickly walking away."I wonder what that was about."
