Sky had come. That was good.

Twilight and the others came up with a plan to get Wild back. Twilight wanted to leave as soon as possible, but Sky and Time decided that it would make more sense to wait until morning. After all, it was awfully dark.

"Do you think we should keep him? He seems awfully scrawny."
"Yeah. He still has a good bit of meat on him."
"But I don't like those bits."
"Aah! Mmph!"
"Heheh. Poke him again. He makes a funny face."
"Heh. I agree."
"Hnng..."
"He didn't make the face this time. Poke him again."
"Human! Make the face again."
"Poke him!"
"Spmff... "
"Ha! An even funnier face!"
"Yeah! Poke him again!"

Twilight didn't sleep all night. He couldn't. He kept worrying about Wild. What were those monsters doing to him? Probably torturing him. No, they weren't smart enough for that. Maybe they were just messing with him.

Finally, only when the sun had begun to rise, he fell asleep.

"Hey! Twi! Wake up!"
"Huh? What is it?"
He opened his eyes to see Wind above him, shaking him.
"We gotta go save Wild!"
"Oh. Oh! Right!"
He sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

He helped the others help get ready. He was too determined to save Wild to feel tired. When they finished, they set off, Twilight leading the way. In the daylight, it seemed further than it had when he couldn't see where he was going.

When they finally reached the camp, Wind gasped.
"That's almost as big as the Forsaken Fortress!"
Twilight nodded. He wasn't sure exactly how big that was, bit it must have been big.

They went inside and started looking for Wild.

He had stopped struggling a while ago. He had also stopped reacting to what the monsters did to him. At this point, he had just given up. They weren't going to save him. Why did he think that they'd ever come get him? Twilight left. He didn't blame him. The place was pretty big.

The monsters kept messing with him, trying to make him do stuff. About halfway through the night, he decided that maybe, if he didn't do anything, they would stop bothering him. He was right.

But now, his wound hurt. They had poked it so much that somehow, it had started bleeding. How, he wasn't sure. He just knew that he'd die soon. It couldn't take long. The bleeding hadn't stopped. Sure, it had slowed down, but it was still going. They had taken his shirt and bandages off, so he had to look up to avoid seeing it. But that made him tired, so he just closed his eyes.

Maybe if he closed his eyes, he'd fall asleep and he wouldn't have to bear it. Maybe he'd die in his sleep. That would be nice. Anything to stop this torture.

Then, he heard voices. Human voices. He jerked his head up and stared at the door. Had they finally come to get him?

The door flew open to reveal...
A monster. It picked him up and ran. What was going on? He couldn't see what the monster was running from. Maybe it was the others. Maybe it was just some other group of travellers. Maybe it was just more monsters, and he had imagined the voices. That would make sense. He was probably going crazy.

"That moblin has him!"
"I've got it!"
"Wind, wait- ugh. What an impatient little-"
"Calm down. At least we found him."

Was it them? Maybe he was just dreaming. He pinched his hand. Nope. Not dreaming. Maybe he was just imagining all of this.

He felt the monster- a moblin- stumble. It had been hit. Maybe he wasn't imagining this.

He hadn't realized that they were moblins. They looked nothing like the ones he was used to. Whatever. Now they had a name, at least.

The moblin fell. Because of the way it was holding him, it fell on top of him. Great. Now he was suffocating. What a wonderful way to die.

He felt the weight on top of him get lifted away. He opened his eyes and saw Twilight. Great. Now he was hallucinating.
"Wild!"
"Mmph!"
He had forgotten about the cloth over his mouth.

Twilight pushed the moblin away and picked him up.
"Let's go."
He was carried away and out of the camp. He didn't see what was happening, because he had buried his face into Twilight's chest. He was too scared to look. What he was afraid of, he wasn't sure.

Eventually, Twilight stopped running.
"Okay. Do we have everyone?"
"One, two, three... six, seven, eight. Yup."
"Okay, good. Let's get back to camp."

They started walking and he looked up at Twilight's face. Well, he looked at his chin. Twilight looked down at him and asked,
"How are you holding up?"
"Mmph."
"Oh. Right. I'll wait to ask."
Twilight looked up again, and he looked in the same direction. He saw Time walking in front of the group. Twilight must have been near the front.

Eventually, they reached camp. Twilight set him down on his sleeping bag and started to undo the gag and rope.
"Goddesses, they tied you up better than I thought they would even know how."
Twilight tossed the cloth and rope off to the side.

He took a deep breath, relieved to be able to breath normally.
"So, how are you doing? I noticed that this is bleeding. I... didn't realize that it would still be there."
Twilight pointed at the stab wound, which he quickly put a hand over.
"Um... yeah. They poked it a bunch. It hurt. A lot."
"I bet. We should fix that up."

Twilight dug through a bag and found a thing of what was probably ointment or something like it. He went to put it on his chest, but he pushed his hand away.
"Do you not want me to touch it?"

He opened his mouth, about to say yes, but then he realized that the only other option would be for him to do it himself.
"No-no. It's fine. You can do it."
He looked away as Twilight applied it, not wanting to see someone touch the wound. Then, Twilight put bandages around his torso, which he was grateful for.

"Thank you."
"No problem. Do you have a shirt to wear? I think the one you were wearing is still at the monster base."
"Yeah, probably. Where's my bag?"
Twilight handed his bag over and he began to look through it. He pulled out the shirt he had worn when he first woke up and frowned.

"Ugh. I'd rather not wear this."
He looked through the bag some more before sighing.
"You know what, this is fine. I don't need a shirt."
He looked at Twilight and smiled.
"Thanks for getting me. I didn't think you'd do it."
