"Morning, Twilight."
"Hey. Where's Time?"
"He went that way. He was writing in an old looking journal. Warrior picked up and he got kind of upset and left."
"Oh. Huh. Well, I'll go check on him la-"

Twilight was interrupted by a shout from the direction Wild had pointed. He looked back, and Wild stood up. Wild grabbed his sword and bolted before Twilight could even react.

Wild found Time standing up, facing away from him. The notebook was lying open on the ground a few feet in front of him, and a bag was even farther away, several objects spilling out of it.

Time walked over to the notebook and picked it up and looked at it for moment.
Then, he ripped it in half. He threw the halves like frisbees.

He flopped to the ground, muttering something.

Wild cautiously walked up to him and gently asked,
"Time? Is everything alright?"

"What do you f**king think?"

"I- what? Are you okay?"

For a moment, there was no answer.
Then, Time quietly asked,
"Do you have that mask with you? That horrendous one with the huge eyes?"
"Uh, yeah. I think so."
"Get it."
"Um, okay."

Wild turned and ran back to camp. He tossed his sword onto the table and grabbed his bag. He started searching through it.
Eventually, he gave up and dumped it onto the table. He grabbed the mask and ran back to where Time was.

"Here."
He tossed the mask to Time, who picked it up.

He stood up, still holding it. Then, he snapped it clean in half.

"Uh, Time?"
He looked back at Wild with a fierce look in his eyes.

He looked back down at the mask and hissed,
"Burn it. Destroy it. Get it away from me."

He threw it to Wild, where it landed at his feet, and walked away, his shoulders slumped.

When he reached the halves of the notebook, he bent down and picked them up before continuing on.

As he walked, he pulled his sword out of its sheath and let go of it, allowing it to fall to the ground.

Wild set the pieces of the mask down on the table and started looking through the other items on the table.
When he found a fire arrow, he took that and a bow. He also took the mask.

He brought them to the fire circle. He cleared everything out of the fire area and put the fragments of the mask in the center.

He notched the arrow on the bow string and aimed.
He let go of the arrow, and it hit the mask directly.

The shards burst into flame.

He watched as the mask crumbled apart into ash.

He wondered why Time wanted it destroyed.

He wondered what was so terrible about this mask.

Once the flames died down, he crouched down to get a closer look at the burning embers.

He breathed in some ash, making him cough.

It blew around him, enshrouding him in a cloud of smoke and dust.

He shut his eyes tightly and tried to wave it away from his face with his hands.

He moved his head away, coughing.

His chest burned.

He rubbed his eyes.

They stung.

He shouldn't have gotten so close to it.

To the mask.

To the ash.

He felt someone pull his arm.

Dump water on him.

His head cleared.

And he spoke.

"Aah! That's cold!"

"Sorry. You were practically dying. I had to do something."

"I know."

"What on earth were you doing?"
Wild looked up at Twilight.
"Time asked me to burn the weird looking mask. I don't know why. He was really upset."
"Oh. You still shouldn't have been that close."
"Yeah. I know."

He stood up and brushed his pants off.
He smiled at Twilight.
"Can you ask Time about it? Thanks."
Then, he walked away, leaving his now ash-covered bow on the ground by the campfire.

Twilight found Time sitting on the shore of a small lake.
He was quite far from camp.

Twilight was holding Time's sword, which he had found lying on the ground near the bag of masks.

Twilight opened his mouth to speak, before he was even able say anything, Time spoke.

"Please leave."

"Why did you want Wild to destroy that mask?"

"Please. Leave."

"Can you at least tell me why?"

"No. Go away."

Twilight sat down next to Time.

"Get the hell away from me. Don't you have ears?"

"I- Time. I just want to kno-"

"You don't need to know. Leave. Now."

"I... fine."

Twilight turned to leave, but he stopped when Time said one more thing.

"And get that sword away from me. I hate it."

"Well? What did he say?"
"He wouldn't give me any answers. He just kept telling me to leave. He also told me to get his sword away from him. He said he hates it."

"Understandable. I don't use it much. It runs out of energy constantly."
"Energy? What do you mean?"
"Well, it just stops working sometimes."
"How does a sword stop working?"
"It just doesn't do anything. It's like hitting someone with a piece of stiff fabric."
"You should probably ask Sky about that."

"Yeah. That's a good idea. Anyway, Time just asked you to leave?"
"Yeah. Like, six times."
"Why didn't you just leave, then?"
"Because you wanted to know about the mask."
"I asked you to ask him, not pester him. He's already upset about something."

"It probably has something to do with his story."
"But he didn't mention that anywhere in his story."
"Huh. Well, I don't know."
"I'll ask him later. When he comes back."
