A few hours later, Colby wanted to take me out somewhere while Joe, Jon, and Brianna lounged around my house. It was completely fine with me and I insisted on leaving with him after getting dressed.
"Ready to go, babe?" He asked.
"I'm excited!" I replied, "Where are we going?"
He smirked, "You'll see, Katherine. I'd rather not spoil the surprise."
We drove to a private place that had a beautiful scenery. Colby and I sat on top of a hill and I watched as he pulled out a picnic blanket and brought some champagne and snacks for the both of us while we were alone.
"Ms. Katherine." He smiled. "Would you want to have brunch with me?"
"Of course, why wouldn't I?" I chuckled.
Colby pulled out two glasses from the back of his Lamborghini and poured a small amount of champagne into it while looking over at me with a smile on my face.
"Hey, since I'm finally your boyfriend. I just wanted you to know that you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." Colby said, smiling.
"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me too, Colby."
While we sat down and ate some snacks, drank some champagne, and sat together on a picnic blanket on top of a hill that shown a beautiful sight full of nature and with nobody around, I felt nothing but happiness. I was finally spending it with someone with whom I could finally say that I loved.
It was silent for a few minutes and Colby started to break the silence, wrapping one arm around me and looking around the scenery with me.
"This is so good. I tell you, I wasn't expecting this." Colby said with a smile, fixing his hair.
"Neither was I."
"I'm sorry if I've ever pressured you into being with me in the past, Katherine." He apologized.
"You never pressured me, Colby. I just felt like the time was right and I needed to put the past behind me because there was more to life than worrying about history repeating itself."
"You never have to worry about me, babe."
Colby pulled me in closer into his embrace and I rested my head on his shoulder.
"I'm glad that I don't need to worry anymore." I smiled.
"Also, about what happened a month ago between us..." Colby paused, staring at me with admiration.
"What about it?"
"Well, I don't know how you truly felt about that moment between us back at your house when we made love for the first time. We've never really talked about it after it happened and I just wanted to know your take on it."
"Personally, I loved it."
He smiled and planted a kiss on the top of my head.
"I'm glad I didn't make you nervous. I understand we were in the heat of the moment back then and I never, ever want you to think I only want you for sex. I want you for who you truly are, Katherine. You're beautiful, you have an amazing personality, and to tell you the truth, I'm thankful that Brianna introduced you to wrestling a few months ago. If it weren't for her, we wouldn't have known each other."
I smiled, "You're right about that. I have to truly thank her for everything that she's done. If it wasn't for her giving me small pep-talks about how I needed to get out more and give relationships another try and put the past behind me with Tony, I wouldn't be with you right now."
We continued with our conversation about each other and finished the rest of our brunch for the next hour before we started our drive back to my house.
Colby
After spending quality time with Katherine, we made our way back to her house to catch up with the boys and Brianna for the time being.
