I was so thrilled to have won both championships and making history tonight in the arena for SummerSlam. Walking backstage, I received so much praise and hearing congratulations from everyone in the locker-room. This moment truly meant everything to me and I've strived for this very moment to happen ever since I was a little boy.
"Congrats man." Joe said, patting me on the back.
"Thank you, Joe."
"Proud of you, Colbs." Jon said, pulling me into a brotherly hug.
"You boys are the best." I smiled while looking at the two newly won championships around my shoulders. "I need to call Katherine. I'll catch up with you boys later, alright?"
"Alright man, take care."
Joe and Jon left and I walked over to my locker-room and pulled my phone out of my backpack, calling up Katherine to show her my two titles.
"Hello?" She said.
"Hey babe. Did you see my victory tonight?"
"I did and I'm so proud of you, Colby."
"Thank you, babe."
"How does it feel to know you literally just made history?" Katherine asked.
"It feels terrific." I blushed. "I never thought I'd actually hold two titles at once."
"They look so good on your shoulders! I'm still proud of you for winning tonight."
"Thank you, baby. I have to get ready for Raw tomorrow and get some rest."
Katherine let out a small sigh after I said I needed to get some rest for the night and I started to grow concerned.
"What's wrong baby?" I asked, worried.
"Nothing, I-"
"Katherine." I said, sternly.
"I just really miss you, but I understand that you're a busy man. I'm just hoping the days will quickly pass by and I can finally see you again."
"Aww babe." I said with a sigh. "I'll be back soon, I promise."
"Alright. I love you, Colby."
"I love you too, Katherine."
After I hung up the call, I packed my things and headed back to the hotel to finally get some well deserved rest and get ready for Raw tomorrow night.
The Next Day
I woke up feeling groggy and tired after last nights pay-per-view. Last night was memorable and historic for me as I won both of the titles and made some parts of the crowd heated, and the other half was going berserk over my huge win of my career besides being the inaugural NXT champion a few years back.
I received a text from Hunter, also known as Triple H, about attending a personal business meeting with his wife, Stephanie McMahon, and her father which was the chairman of the WWE, Vince McMahon.
I sat up on my bed and began to rub my eyes violently until it felt like I was seeing nothing but stars. It felt like my victory from last night was just a dream but in fact, was a reality. I rushed myself and quickly took a shower, brushed my teeth and done my usual morning routine.
After getting ready, I drove over to where the business meeting was being held and I seen a few vehicles parked. Suspicious, I went inside the building and seen just Hunter, Stephanie and Vince sitting on some chairs with a smile on their faces.
"Colby! I'm so glad you could attend this business meeting." Vince said.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." I joked around while taking a seat in front of my bosses.
"Do you know why we are having this meeting?"
"No, why?"
"First off, congratulations on winning both the WWE World Heavyweight championship and the United States championship last night at SummerSlam." Hunter said, congratulating me.
"Thank you, Hunter."
"Although this isn't why we called you in here, Colby." Said Stephanie McMahon.
"I figured as much."
"We called you in here because we couldn't help but to notice that you had a girlfriend back in Los Angeles when we had that house show. Am I right?" Hunter said, looking at me with a smile on his face.
"I, uh..." I started to become nervous.
"Colby, take it easy." Vince said.
"We called you in here to talk business. We took notice that you have a beautiful girlfriend and we wanted to use you both in this love story angle that we had planned." Stephanie said, sternly.
"You're wanting my girlfriend to work in the WWE with me?"
"Indeed, we do." Vince said, nodding.
"But why? She loves her job back in Cali and she doesn't wrestle like I do."
"Think about it, Colby. You'll have the love of your life right next to you and you both will be extremely happy together in the WWE." Hunter said.
"Hunter, I don't know about this. I-"
"Colby, we want you to talk to your girlfriend about our job offering and we want to know her answer by tomorrow afternoon. Understood?" Stephanie said, sternly.
"Yes, Steph." I looked down at the ground and gave a slight nod.
"That's my top star." Hunter said, patting my back while they all left the room, leaving me to myself.
Katherine told me awhile ago that she loved her job at O'Charley's. The people treated her with respect. Her bosses and the other employees loved interacting with her, and she enjoyed everything about her job. I couldn't just take that away from her.
I felt like her joining the WWE alongside Joe, Jon and I will take her away from the one job she's always loved; and I never wanted to take away anything that made her feel happy after everything she's been through with her ex-boyfriend.
I allowed a sigh to escape from my mouth and I had to call her and ask about her answer. Dialing her number, she answered quickly and she sounded so excited.
"Colby! Guess what?" Katherine said with excitement in her voice.
"What's up, babe?"
I heard barking inside of her house.
"I adopted a dog!"
I chuckled and had a huge smile on my face while she facetimed me to seeing a small, fat pug running around the floor and barking.
"Aww, what's his name?" I asked, smiling.
"Winston!"
"He's so adorable, babe."
"How come you called so early?" She asked.
"Well, I uh-" I said, nervously.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just have something very important that I need to talk to you about."
"Like?"
"Hear me out on this, alright?"
"Alright, I'm all ears."
"My three bosses noticed how I kissed you at the Los Angeles house show after my match with Jon and they wanted to do a love story angle between the both of us. And secondly, they wanted you to join the WWE. I don't know if they're expecting you to wrestle or something, but-"
"I mean, I'm actually happy about that!"
"You are? I thought you loved O'Charley's?" I said as my eyes began to shot open.
"I do, but I've got into wrestling for almost a year now. Jon and Joe are like brothers to me, you're my boyfriend and my best friend loves wrestling and I'm sure she'd support me if I accepted the job offering."
"So you're telling me that you want to join the WWE with me, huh?"
"Yes!" She said, "I'll have to tell my boss that I'm going to be working for WWE in the morning."
"Alright. I didn't know how to ask you because I know how much your job means to you."
"They'll understand, Colby." She smiles, "And I've my job, but there's a whole life ahead of me and I want to swing for the fences and explore life."
"Alright. I love your enthusiasm and I'll tell Stephanie, Vince and Hunter that you accepted when I see them again."
"I love you, Colby!"
"I love you too, princess." I smiled, seeing her beautiful face lighting up like a Christmas tree.
I hung up the phone with Katherine and deep down, I was thrilled that the love of my life was going to be working alongside me in the WWE. I'm just wondering how Joe, Jon and Brianna are going to feel about this.
