Colby and I arrived back to our hotel for the night after we finished our small workout session. CrossFit wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Colby needed to shower before we left tomorrow and I went to begin packing our clothes together.

I was nervous and skeptical about meeting his family and it felt nerve-wracking to where the thought of it made me tremble. I started to pack our bags for our flight tomorrow and take our showers the night before we left in the morning to Davenport.

While I packed my clothes and charged my phone, I remained silent due to overthinking about his family. Joe and Jon reassured me earlier that his family would adore me at first sight but part of me believed that they'd hate me.

I could hear Colby inside of the bathroom as he was showering and making sure that he was clean before seeing his mother tomorrow. He would always tell me that he wouldn't be where he's at today if it wasn't for his mother pushing him to accomplish his dreams when he was only sixteen years old.

The thought of his mother not approving of me had me feeling anxious. A few minutes later, I heard Colby leaving the bathroom as he worn his hair into a bun and had water dripping from his body with no shirt on and the only thing he was wearing was his plain black boxers.

"Hey babe." Colby said.

"Oh, hey."

"Why the long face? Is everything okay?" He asked.

"Yeah," I lied, "I'm just nervous about tomorrow."

Colby sat down on the floor next to me while I was still packing the last bit of clothes into my suitcase. I felt his arms wrapping around me gently and I looked up to seeing him giving me a warm smile and his eyes were locked onto mine.

"What did me and the boys tell you earlier?"

"I know, I know. I just want your family to like me because I don't think they will." I said.

"What makes you think that, love?"

"I don't know." I shook my head. "All I know is that they might not approve of me because of what I've been through when it comes to Tony and–"

Colby stopped me with a small kiss planted on my lips. He looked back down into my eyes and softly chuckled.

"Baby, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I know without any question that my family is going to love you just the way you are."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm positive."

I needed to take a break from packing and sat down on his lap. His arms were wrapped around me with my chin resting against his shoulder. Colby has always made me feel safe when he pulls me into his embrace and I loved that so much about him.

"Don't you know how beautiful you truly are?" He said with a smile on his face.

"Kind of." I laughed.

"Hey now, what's that supposed to mean?"

"You tell me, Mr. Lopez." I teased.

"Want me to prove it, huh?"

"I'd like to see you try."

Colby locked his eyes onto mine and gently moved himself forward to press his lips against mine. After he teased me, he pulled back and smiled at me with a chuckle.

"I'm gonna prove it to you even more when we arrive to Davenport."

"That's fine with me."

Colby and I started to finish packing our clothes for tomorrow. I was still feeling uneasy on the inside about meeting his family but I'll take his word for it.

After an hour later, we finished packing our luggage together and it was time for the both of us to get some rest before tomorrow. We crawled into bed together and I listened to Colby talk about Davenport and what his hometown was like. Before we knew it, we both fell asleep for the night.

8:56 am

"Hey Katherine, wake up." Colby said, shaking my shoulder around in attempt to wake me up from my slumber.

"Is it time to leave?" I groaned.

"Yeah, we have to hurry babe."

It was finally time to make our way to the airport and we didn't have any time to make breakfast. We got our luggage together and drove over to the airport.

Arriving to the airport, we waited until it was time for the both of us to get on our flight and board the plane. Colby and I sat next to each other and got adjusted into our small seats.

"Comfortable?"

"Eh, a little." I replied.

"You can switch seats with me, babe. I don't want you feeling claustrophobic."

"Thank you."

About a couple of hours later, our flight landed in Colby's hometown. I felt so many emotions coursing throughout my body when it came to feeling anxious on the thought of meeting his family.

"Ready to go, Katherine?" He asked.

I replied, "I'm not sure."

"Take it easy, babe. I told you that my family will love you for who you are. They aren't judgmental by any means."

"I'll take your word for it."

He and I waited for an Uber and about an hour later, we arrived to his home. His house was gigantic and I walked with him to the door and watched him ring the doorbell.

"Colby! I've missed you so much!" The woman said. I assumed this to be his mother and I remained silent.

"I missed you too mom. I'd like for you to meet my girlfriend, Katherine."

"It's so nice to meet you!" She said, pulling me into a hug.

"It's nice to meet you too, Mrs. Lopez!" I said with the biggest smile on my face.

"Come inside, kids. I'm making us some lunch. You both must be starving after a long flight over here."

"We didn't have any time to make breakfast this morning but I appreciate it." I said.

Colby's mother made the both of us some lunch that consisted of a sandwich and some orange juice.

I finished eating and watched as a small puppy that looked like a Yorkshire Terrier emerged into the room and jumped onto his black, leather couch and greeted Colby. The puppy began sitting down onto the pillow sitting next to him and he grew a warm smile on his face.

"Aww!" I said with excitement

"Aww!" I said with excitement. "Is this your puppy?"

"Mhm, his name is Kevin." He smiled.

"Kevin is so adorable! He's the cutest along with Winston!"

It felt amazing being able to bond with Colby at his house and in his hometown of Davenport, Iowa. His mother adored me just like he said she would. Everything felt perfect at this point and I wouldn't change it for the world.
