My First Job

Waking up to the morning sun always makes me smile, however today I woke up before sunrise so I gotta watch it. Not getting much sleep the night before had me tired, making me want to sleep in and just waste the day away. I knew doing that wouldn't be healthy though and I needed to keep up appearances at the guild. It's been a few days since the battle royale and I got to keep my spot. I went back inside after watching the sunrise and I go and hop into the bath. Making the water scalding hot so I'd be warm. Memories of my first week in the orphanage flood into my brain when I would distance myself from the other children. Changing my name to Nightingale was a choice since it was a new life here, I still went by my first name Luna though. Taking my steps through the gate had started a whole new path for me, whether I expected it or not. It felt only right to go under a new name since I had felt so alienated in the orphanage. Shaking my head, I try not to think about my time there in that awful place. After I wash my hair and body I hop out and look for a decent outfit to wear today. I pushed clothes around in my closet while I dried my hair before picking out what I wanted to wear. Once I was dressed, I go and wake Tenroku up.
"Morning sleepy head," I say to him with a smile.
"Morning Luna. So what are we doing today?" He asks me once he sat up.
"We're going on our first job," I say as we walk out.
As we're walking to the guild hall I see Dobengal walking as well. He was the one who helped wrap up my wound after Sitri attacked me.
"Hey Dobengal!" I yelled at him and he turned around and waved at me.
"Hey. Uh Luna and Tenroku right?" He asks and I shake my head.
"Yeah that's me. You headed to the guild hall?" I ask and he nods.
"Yeah I am. I was going to go on a job. Would you and Tenroku Like to join me?" He asks and I give a large smile.
"That'd be wonderful. What kind of mission were you thinking about?" I ask as we continue to walk.
He and I talked about different jobs until we got to the guild hall. Once we entered, we went to the request board and started looking. Searching the board we found a job we both agree on. Wasn't a complicated job as far as I was concerned. Had to so something with a monster in a town near Magnolia. Where fairy tail use to be. When fairy tail disappeared, alot of their jobs were given to different and stronger guilds. I looked at how much we'd be getting it was only 5,000 jewel and since we'll split it in half I'll only get 2,500 not enough for rent next month but it was a start. I sigh as I then go and grab a bag and meet Dobengal at the train station. As I walk into the train station I can feel eyes on me. I turn around and try to find who was watching me but I couldn't find anyone so I shrugged it off. Seeing Dobengal I then ran up to him.
"Hey Dobengal! You been waiting here long?" I asked him as he shook his head no.
"Not at all, bout 5 minutes," He says and I smile.
We board the train and I still feel eyes on me. I take one look around the train station and not finding anyone staring at me I hop on the train.
"Everything ok Luna?" Dobengal asks me.
"Yeah just felt someone staring at me," I say as I shrug my shoulders.
"Anything you should be worried about?" He says concerned.
"I don't think so probably just my imagination," I say as I sit down.
As we ride the train to our destination we talk about ourselves. I learn that he was trained to be a ninja and uses smoke bombs a lot. We tell jokes and about the battle royale. Dobengal told me how he won the battle and who he was against. As night time falls on the train I slowly fall asleep as does Tenroku. I hold onto him as He sleeps so he doesn't fall off the seat. As I enter the world of dreams I see the blonde dragon slayer in it. I try to push him from my mind and dream of something else but those sapphire eyes haunt my dreams. His face is almost flawless as I snap myself awake as I look at Tenroku and Dobengal as they're asleep.
"Come on Luna pull yourself together," I whisper to myself as I shake my head. I shouldn't be thinking about that stuck up arrogant boy.
I try and fall back asleep but everytime I do his face enters it. Finally I fall asleep to the thought of my brother. A small part of me is hoping he's still alive, but I highly doubt he is.
As morning came Dobengal and I got off the train and made our way to the edge of town. Tenroku picks me up as I look around from a birds eye view.
"I can't see anything!" I yell down as he gives me a thumbs up.
We keep searching, me from the air and Dobengal on the ground. As we're searching something wacks me out of the air. As I fall to the ground I send a water slicer into the thing that hit me.
"Found it!" I yell as he's already next to me.
We spend hours fighting the thing until we've finally defeated it. I collapse onto my knees as I'm out of breath.
"You're not bad of a fighter Luna," Dobengal says as he holds his hand out to help me up.
As we get back on the train we make our way back to Crocus. Once we're on the train I pass out. I don't care that this time Sting enters my dreams. I'm too tired to care. His Sapphire eyes, his toothy grin, his toned abs. It was enough to make a girl go mad with desire. As we come back into crocus I'm jolted awake by the stop of the train. As I leave the train and bid Dobengal farewell I start walking to my house. I feel eyes on me as I pass by the guild hall and make my way back to my house. Once I get there I step inside and make my way to my bedroom and collapse on my bed.
~Next Morning~
I wake up and immediately go to the closet and get changed. I then walk to the guild hall and see the dragonslayer leaving it holding a piece of paper for 10,000. I make a snap decision and run up to him.
"Hey Sting!" I yell to get his attention.
"Oh what is it newbie?" He asks.
"Can I join you on that job?" I ask. He rolls his eyes. As I quickly make a come back to ensure he'd say yes. "It'd give me an opportunity to watch your skills at work. And maybe I could learn a thing or two?" I say and he smirks.
"Sure you can tag along," He says as he starts walking and I follow.
This may not be my ideal choice to get jewel but I need the money. As Tenroku flies next to me I give him a hug. I hope that this job goes well. I'd hate to get kicked out for not finishing the job. Or worse, have Sting tell the guild master to kick me out.
