Zach was astonished to see Amelia. For past 2 years she had been both - His Dream and His Nightmare. He had tried to find out about her but couldn't. He would had if his grandmother had not intervened and made him promise to not know about her since she was a married woman now. But, it seems that fate had other plans. Amelia was standing right in front of him now, trying to straighten her composure. His eyes were all over her with shock, amazement and same old admiration hitting on his hidden feelings for her.

Life and its uncertainties, thought Zach ruefully. No matter what other surprises life has planned for Zach, in his heart, he knew this was the most shocking of all. He had never expected to meet Amelia again. He believed that her presence from the story of his life was over. She was merely an imaginative character in his story. Until Now. Now, something tells him that there are going to be more surprises and he knew they are not going to be pleasant ones as he is still not able to accept that the girl he once loved, and still does, is married to someone else. And, at this moment she is standing right in front of his eyes, torturing his mind and soul, casting magic spells to his hidden feelings. He was in a state of complete torture, but he made sure that she doesn't sense any of it.

The way he looked at her, made Amelia blush. She knew she was the one who should be sorry for it all happened because of her recklessness. She stammered as she said, "I'm... I'm Sorry." She paused to inhale a nervous breath. Then she continued in a stuttering voice,"I was in a bad mood.. And I didn't..." She tried to look at him as she said, "...Didn't see you." He was looking at her intently as she explained and that made her blush even more.

Seeing her cheeks going red, his humor resented and he gave a full teeth smile as he drawled, "No need to be sorry. Things happen, it's not necessarily anyone's fault all the time".

What a good thing to say, Amelia thought, wishing everyone is always so understanding as she uttered shyly,"Er..... Yes, not always."

"Can I know your name?" Zach asked trying to make a conversation with her, hoping that might calm down her embarrassment and his impatience over the shock he just received.

Her eyes flew open in surprise, her lashes long and dark giving a widen look to her nicely shaped eyes. She could see his riding interest in her. That had always happened to her with men finding her flawlessly beautiful, but Jacob was the only one she ever got involved with and then married. Almost mechanically, her finger touched her wedding band to give him an indication that she is married and he holds no chance. He observed the little act and although inside it still killed knowing that truth, he gave a lopsided smile at her gesture. Though, she was certain she has seen something flicker in his eyes. Shock or surprise, she wasn't sure what.

He was straightforward with what he said next, "So, I gather you're married and I assure you, I had no bad intentions, " he smirked and said,"but that doesn't mean I cannot know your name." Of course, he did know that already. Was that not the only reason he had to give up on the first girl he ever liked enough to think of settling down with her.

He was right, she admitted grudgingly and its only polite conversation. She kicked herself for being so silly. She felt embarrassed. She tried to smile as she said. "Amelia..." She wanted to tell her full name but then restrained from it for some reason, thinking that since he is in this building, then, he might as well know about Jacob and that would cause more embarrassment.

Zach smiled, remembering how this name and face had haunted her for past 2 years. "Lovely name, I must say. It suits your beautiful face, if you do not mind my saying so." He said, revealing his admiration for her. She did mind, but took it as a casual compliment. Zach noticed her expression and for a moment wondered if he should tell her that he has seen her before, but he restrained from it. This will be a stupid idea. His heart needs to find more control. He thought he had already trained his heart well relating to the feelings he has of Amelia, but this moment made him realized that he never really had gotten over her.

Unknown to the fact that Zach actually knows her since long, Amelia felt uneasy at the way he was looking at her waiting for her to say something. She smiled politely saying, "Thank you."

Zach had no idea what happened to him as she looked at him with that smile. His mind was already on a flashback of the past and her smile for those kids only made his heart float a little more. Zach came closer to her, very near for her comfort as he looked straight in her eyes drawing a smile on his face as his eyes lingered over her face. She felt uncomfortable under his gaze. He was so close, She could almost feel his breath. "I envy the luck of the man who married you," He said in a deep husky voice. And both knew that he literally had meant it.

Amelia could barely breathe.

She felt so uncomfortable, but his words almost made her laugh sarcastically inside her heart. Lucky? It's the last thing Jacob feels for having me, Amelia thought derisively. She looked up at the annoying man and then turned her face away, ignoring what he had said and stepped aside, trying to have some space between them.

Reality sunk in his head and he cursed himself under his breath and gave her an apologetic look. Not intending to drive into that topic, he simply asked,"Which floor do you want to go to?" He asked.

"4th floor," She answered in an irritated voice, trying to not look at him.

His eyes narrowed at that. "What a coincidence. I'm also going to the 4th floor," He punched the buttons to the 4th floor as they waited for the lift to go down. "You work here or are you a relative of Jacob Hammilton?" He asked again.

Amelia moistened her suddenly dry lips by licking them out of nervousness. The last thing she needs is for him to know about her. But her luck was failing. Jacob owns the 4th floor. Amelia was in a state of surprise accompanied with shock and embarrassment at the thought of facing this man yet again if she happens to meet him on Jacob's Floor. She knew she had no option but to tell him now as he already seem to know Jacob, for it seemed that he was going to meet him. She wondered if he was the same client Jacob wanted her to meet.

A day of embarrassments! She thought.

Amelia lowered her gaze on the floor of the lift and wished she could somehow escape admitting this fact about her life. She looked at her wedding band and reminded her of her hopes, made a brave face and looked up at him and said, "I'm Jacob Hammilton's wife." She just wished it could have come out as proudly as she wanted it to be, but she knew she might fool others but not her heart. She might want to save her marriage for so many reasons, but in her heart she knew, she might never be able to respect Jacob as she once had.

She looked into Zach's eye to see if he finds any connection with this name. His expressions were confusing.

Zach attention seemed to wander for a second, trying to connect with what she said. The expression on his face was like someone had hit him hard on his face. He looked at her strangely and at that moment Amelia wanted to run away and hide feeling how embarrassing things are turning out to be. His expressions cleared that he has complete knowledge of who Jacob is and maybe more than she is willing for him to know. Sanity told her to stay calm. She has to face her life as it is. Its no running away from the facts. They always have the way of showing up at worst hours. She recalled Zach's words, which he had said to her a while ago, "Things happen, its not necessarily anyone's fault all the time". Ironically, it fits her aptly.

Amelia wanted to laugh out loud at herself. She had only met this man and he had only managed to make her feel uncomfortable, in spite of that she cannot help but agree with his words. She knew this sort. Love them or hate them, They are the ones who always makes great impressions. Life is just too good to some people and more than unreasonably unfair to the lots like her, she accepted with a sad feeling tingling in her heart, making her want to cry. She tried to look away as both were quietly waiting for the lift to stop at the assigned floor and the doors to open. She was aware of his scrutiny glares though.

The lift stopped and she rushed out and hurriedly walked towards Jacob's office without bothering to know who he was or wanting to know his name, leaving Zach staring at her with shock, knowing about who her husband is.
