Amelia was browsing through the shelves of romance section when he startled her by saying, "Have you found what you are looking for?"

In the space of time, she almost forgot to see how long he had been gone for. She found her magazine in no time and had even paid for it. But, since she had time, she was checking out new books from her favorite genres and she lost track of time. She thought of reading her magazine, sitting at the cafe of the bookstore. But, her mind was still reeling with the talk they had in the car and she was not able to resist overthinking. So, she thought of checking out the latest books.

Zach's words took her by surprise. She turned around and said, letting out a breath, "You nearly made me fall."

“That will be not the first time, if it happened” He said playfully remembering that each time they had met, for some or other reason, she had fallen into his arms. It was like an indication to him that God wants them to be together. Of course, It can be a wishful thinking, but he loved to believe otherwise.

Amelia’s face reddened with embarrassment to what he said. She knew what he was indicating at. But, kept quiet.

He noticed her embarrassment and said, "I will never let you fall, Amelia." He said the words with such intensity that made her feel like she was in some other world with him. Somewhere much better and happier. Where she is not bound by sorrows and restrictions. One look at him and reality hit her right on the face, making her realize that it's just today that she and promised to work on their friendship. She must not let her silly heart ruin her only friendship.

She ranged from all these thoughts and looking at the shelf said,"I had been looking for something from Nicholas Sparks..."

"His new book is titled 'The Best of Me', he said as he grabbed a copy of the book from the top shelf and handed it to her.

"Now, who is keeping track of all the new romances hmmm?" She said, raising her brow wearing a funny expression. "And, we girls are constantly targeted." She added as she giggled at his embarrassed face.

"I do keep track of everything good." He said. And, he really meant everything good thing, including her. As she smiled and took the book from his hand and read through the description. "Hmm... Looks good."

"It is... But, I liked His other books more. That's completely my personal opinion though."

"Why? What is about the story that you didn't like?" She asked.

He couldn't tell her that he does not like the book because in that story the guy let go of his love, purposely, thinking he was doing for her good, just like he had done for her. And, how he regrets letting her go. Maybe, if he had tried to find more about her than he might have saved her from Jacob and her hard experience in life that tainted her views regarding life and love. It's like taking everything away from her. His face hardened at that thought. He felt uneasy. His guilt was riding on his soul for not finding about her before and giving up on her. He simply said,"I didn't like the idea of letting go of your first love. It killed my belief. I believed in fighting for what you want, who you love." He stated, adding ‘ever since, Once upon a time’ to himself. And then voicing out to her,"Letting go is never a good option..."
