♡20 : Awkward Moments

Amelia sat up from the little nap she took after drinking the home-made drink Samantha had brought and applying a balm on her head. She slept for two hours. Samantha was in her room all the time as per Zach's orders. She informed her that Zach had inquired about her health twice and Rachel had sent a maid to check up on her. Amelia ran a hand over a hair with disgust for sleeping that long. She felt so embarrassed that Rachel had asked for her and she had been sleeping.

"How long had it been since she asked for me?," Amelia inquired from Samantha as she stood up and walked towards her dressing table.

"About an hour, I believe."

Amelia scowled at herself in the mirror. Took her hair brush and ran through her hair in hurry. She fixed her clothes and wipe her face with a tissue, applied her lip balm and informed Samantha that she is going to meet Rachel.

"Sure, go," She smiled and said. "It's almost dinner time anyway. You be with them and then you all can join together. No need to come back and stress yourself climbing up and down the stairs."

"Okay, Sam," Amelia said with childlike smile and nodded.

Samantha nodded and went to straighten her bedcovers. She was happy to see Amelia behaving normal. She knew how tensed she had been overthinking how Rachel might react to their stay.

Amelia was wondering if Zach is still at home and if he is with Rachel or not. She was very upset about him leaving like that before. She has to clear the misunderstanding. She wants that normal thing between them. She cannot see that ruining. 

She took the help of one of the maids in finding Rachel room and on inquiring from her, she was told that Zach isn't at home. She couldn't help but feel sad. She walked towards Rachel's room and knocked softly before entering after hearing Rachel's voice.

"Ah, you're awake." She heard Rachel say as she entered her room.

"Yes, I woke up a while ago. Sorry, I couldn't make it before," Amelia said apologetically as she went to sit beside her on being instructed by her.

"Don't be so formal," Rachel uttered. "I just thought I'd look in on you to make sure you're fine."

"I'm fine now," Amelia said, sitting beside her on the sofa. Looking around as if searching for someone.

"Zach's gone out." Amelia felt embarrassed as Rachel said that. Thinking, Is it so obvious to his Grandmother that She had been thinking about him. Or, she reads thoughts? Amelia wondered. Rachel continued,"He looked in on you too before he went, but he said you were still fast asleep then."

Color flooded her cheeks. She folded her hands and sat coyly not knowing how to react. She has to say something, she told herself. "Samantha informed me. It's been really nice of both of you to be so concerned about me," She said with acknowledgement.

"Oh, he does. It is so obvious that he cares about you a lot." Rachel disclosed,"He had been talking about you since the day he met you." Rachel was making sure she does not say a word about her husband or her life with him. She was taking extreme care but she did have to let it known to Amelia about what Zach feels, wanted to see how she reacts while she talks about Zach and so she began talking about their first meeting.
