♡25 : Christmas Plans

A week was left for Christmas. Rachel was happily singing because she will be having Amelia and Sam with them for Christmas. Zach too, seemed happy about it, but the silence between him and Amelia had stretched some more. They did talk occasionally though, to show each other and everyone that everything is fine, but their previous level of comfort and that friendliness was fading out. This troubled Amelia more than anything. She cursed these feelings of love. This love has always managed to take away everything that keeps her happy. But, she reminded herself that she has her child and it will be hers... forever to love and be loved by.

Though, she was happy about it, but her heart seemed to be expecting more in life. That came to her realization when Rachel informed her about Margaret joining them for Christmas. She told her that Margaret has always celebrated Christmas with them. Doesn't matter where she is but she always makes it a point to visit them during Christmas. Her parents divorced and married to different people, so he does not like to celebrate Christmas with them. Like among her parents, There was no love lost between her and her parents either. They were too selfish worrying about their own lives to care for her. 

On Amelia's deepened interest in trying to know more about her, Rachel informed her about her life. She also told her that Margaret and Zach were childhood friends, going to the same school. And, even though they went to different high schools, but they always had maintained contact. Meg as she is being called by Zach, is the daughter of his dead father's friend. And, Zach is fond of her.

Amelia felt sad for her, but at the same time she felt an uneasy feeling where she was concerned. Her mind was pricking her with thoughts like why had Zach never once mentioned Meg. Or, maybe she had read too much into him... Maybe he never felt the way she thinks he does. Yeah, that's true. She had foolishly misjudged everything. 

Why on earth would a man like Zach who can have anyone in his life will ever have something for someone like her - another man's runaway wife and soon to be mother of that man child? She had been downright stupid with believing he might feel for her.

Not that she has changed her mind or wanted to do anything about it, but these latest thoughts and Meg's visit was unsettling her in more ways than one.

Alone, in her room, Amelia drummed her fists on the bed in frustration. This couldn't be happening! How can she let herself feel such things? Zach was only being nice to her and he had been very clear about it, yet she read into his actions and ruin their friendship over something that was never in her plans as well. But, her guesses were telling a different story. Even without meeting Meg, Amelia was making plans to avoid her because she scared that seeing Zach and Meg together might stir her feelings.

Yes, she was jealous already. And, this was a very confused and freaking feeling for her.

Dear God, this had to stop before she makes a fool of herself! She prayed silently.

She didn't want to meet Meg, but she cannot avoid meeting her, she knows. That would be a strange thing to do. And, Rachel and Zach might feel bad that she is not being polite to their friend. She does not want to do so, but under the circumstances, she had little alternative but to cope with meeting Meg. She tried to tell herself that it's okay, but her understanding failed her with this.

She was surprised at herself. Never had she faced feeling such a way for anyone. She knew it was bad but she couldn't help it. She kept comforting herself with a lie that she will not at all be affected by seeing them together.
