♡10 : It takes two to be stubborn

Zach cursed himself for not patiently dealing with the situation. Everything happened so fast, he didn't get a moment to adjust to things. Meeting Amelia had been one big shock for him and as if that was not enough, he cannot ever forget the way she fell in his arms. He nearly went crazy seeing her in that condition. He was almost paralyzed, not knowing what to do. And then the biggest blow came when he was told that she is pregnant. She looked pale when he first saw earlier today, he thought it's because of her unhappiness over her failed marriage but later when he was told about her pregnancy, the real reasons of her conditions came out.

He, now knows, why she left Jacob. To an extent. He needed to know exactly what had happened that day when they first met, for Amelia to leave Jacob. Jacob never told him. He only had been accusing him, assuming she was with him. He was confused why he must say that, but then he mentioned something about watching from his office window, talking on the premises, he understood that Jacob has misunderstood things and though he tried it all to make him believe the truth but Jacob didn't believed and has threatened that he will get back to him for this. Zach wasn’t threatened by it at all but for his reputation’s sake to prove he is innocent and for some strange reason he needs to know where and how Amelia is, he had been looking for her.

What he didn't expect was things to come out like this! He cannot tell the truth about him but keeping his little secret safe, he intended to help her because he just needs to see her happy and fixed.

A baby. Zach reflected on the thought. If he had not let her go, then the baby would have been his. He loved babies and had for long waited to find the right kind of girl to marry and have his own kids. He is touching 30 years of age now and he met a fair share of woman, but no one went past his wealth to reach his heart. Each of them, he met were all gold-diggers. He didn't like anyone of them. Except the One who already belonged to someone else.

Amelia

Zach had really been deeply attracted to her since he first met her. The collision at the lift, his observing her at Jacob's office and the little chat they had outside the office premises had been in his subconscious all the time. He had never even for once wanted to try and make any advancements to reach for her, or to at least be friends with her because he knew if he did so, his feelings might grow and misguide him and he didn't want to be the reason of her unhappiness anyways.

But, it seems that lady luck had heard him and went against it, to test him. He senses a rising hatred towards Jacob. Personally, he never bothered about what he did with his life, although he had known her for a year now when they were introduced at a business party by a common friend. Jacob had flaunted his mistress like she was his wife. It was only later that Zach was informed by some other friend that the woman in Jacob's arm is his mistress, Janet and that he is married to someone else. The man also told him that his wife is exceptionally beautiful, so he fails to understand why Jacob needs to have an affair.

Zach had wondered the same too after he met Amelia. She is like an angel. Beautiful and soft-spoken. Only a fool or a jerk will need to go after another woman after having someone like her in their life. He is certain that there is more to the story than has been told. Amelia doesn't appear to be the kind who would take such an important decision, of giving up a marriage, in haste, given the fact that she even has a baby coming and she definitely knows a baby needs both parents. But, if she has left Jacob and has been hiding from him, then there is something much more serious. He remembered her being sad and requesting him to not let Jacob know about her again and again.

He knew he did the most ruthless thing to blackmail her the way he did, but he didn't have any option. He was sure, only by that threat she will agree for his help and let him help her and undo what problems he has caused in her life, unknowingly. He does like her but he is not intending to help her with any personal motives or intentions. He just wants to help her during these crucial times and provide her with all the care she needs.
