♡23 : The Realization

This wasn't really happening; this isn't true, Amelia thought as she walked alone on the lawn after dinner.  Zach had been avoiding her and this had gone to notice to both Samantha and Rachel. He was still concerned about her and had been making sure she gets proper care. Samantha was religiously following his orders and a maid had been appointed specially for her.

Rachel had tried to find out the reason from both, but both kept quiet about it. Even Samantha was not told the truth. Amelia felt awkward discussing it. She wanted to clear things with Zach, but he was always away and at dinner, he chose to stay quiet.

Amelia didn't know his silence would affect her so much. He came back from Edinburgh the following day, but had been keeping more distance from her than ever. He was clearly ignoring her and that had begun to bother her. She kept waiting for him to talk to her, but he always kept himself busy with work or occupied working in his study. She felt hurt by his indifference.

Amelia had no idea he would come to mean so much to her that his silence and absence would affect her. In so little time, he had taken so much of care about her and the way they had talked and discussed things with each other, she was missing all of it. She felt like someone had showed her where happiness is and then locked it away so that she cannot have it. And, it was all because of her harshness, for the way she had insulted his feelings the other day, when he was only trying to make her understand. She realized that later and she is sorry, but will he ever forget and forgive her.  He is avoiding her and it was making her having sleepless nights and restless days.

And, to make things worse the little closeness they shared when they bumped into each other the other morning and the way he had looked at her then and then his locking her against the wall and forcefully make her listen to him as if she belongs to him, leaves an unsettling feeling in her heart. She tried to fight those reminders, but went helpless. It felt like something from within was forcing her to feel, to see... To understand... 

This being the case, she felt madder at herself for not having control over her own emotions and then accusing Zach about it. Zach kept avoiding her even at dinners and she kept hoping that he will come around and forgives him. 

It was Samantha who made a move again, under Rachel's guidance to check what's wrong between the two of them. Samantha and Rachel had become pals and have been setting their eyes upon a common mission: Setting up Zach and Amelia. They both could see how fond they have become of each other and how they are missing each other, but, Zach was avoiding her for some reason they still do not know and Amelia didn't want to make the another move after the few tries she did, while at dinner, two days ago.

It was Rachel's suggestion that she finds out from Amelia and maybe help her realize what she is not trying to see. 

After breakfast, when Samantha brought her fresh juice in her room. She found Amelia, sitting by the window, looking upset. A baby's magazine was left open on her lap as she was lost in deep thought, watching life outside.
