Rachel Mc Cord was hardly the old grandmother picture she had imagined in her mind. She had no idea of her exact image, but as she clasped hands with her thirty minutes after that embarrassing phone conversation she had with Zach, she was certain that his grandmother just be pushing seventy. But, she was too bright and active for her age. Dressed in a navy blue jumpsuit with matching wool overcoat and her hair styled in a very classy hairstyle, she was an example of a modern day grandmother.
Her eyes then went to Zach, wearing a dark pinstripe suit and navy wool overcoat paired with big winter boots as it was also cold outside with the beginning of December. The wind had ruffled his hair a bit making him seem ever more charming and carefree. Their eyes met and there was a mysterious glint in them as he smiled at her. Amelia smiled back and out forth her hand to shake hands with his grandmother when Zach introduced them.
Rachel's plum lips gave a welcoming glance as her eyes ran over Amelia, holding in her image curiously, nearly getting her nervous right to the heart. Amelia stiffened as she sat beside her and they were presented by Zach in a much detailed manner.
"I'm glad to meet you young lady," She smiled at Amelia and said,"It's nice of Zach to help friends..."She said in a strong appreciative voice as they made way towards the living room. Amelia was certain that the questions were along the room. Sure, his grandmother would pop up a few at least, she guessed.
Who wouldn't when it's about their staying under their roof and taking help from someone as rich and handsome as Zach? Mothers and grandmothers always feel concerned about such things...
"Then, My dear hope you're enjoying your stay here." Rachel asked.
"I sure do." Amelia said with a nod and then smiling at Zach said,"Your grandson is very kind and caring...
"And, dominating!" Rachel added.
"I agree," Amelia agreed with a chuckle.
Zach narrowed his gaze at both women as they laughed together.
"Well.. Well.. I am what I am," Zach said, lifting his chin proudly.
"You are not denying. Hence, it implies we are right." Rachel said, laughing between her words.
"Gran...," Zach voiced, pretending to look sad by making a face "I didn't knew you disapproved of me."
"Oh no...My darling, you are perfect as you are," Rachel said looking adoringly at her grandson. He winked and they laughed together.
Amelia was delighted to see such family bonding. She had never experienced such a thing before, never saw it. Her aunt cared for her, but they were not too deeply attached. The only one she feels a certain bond with is Samantha. Jacob, is not worth considering. Thinking of Jacob made her lose the color of her cheeks and once again she felt continuous how she will react if Rachel questions her about her husband. She looked at Zach and Rachel, and they glanced together at her. For a moment she felt, his granny would question her about her life today. But, at the same moment Samantha had made an appearance and Rachel smiled, realizing who she is and they shook hands while Zach officially introduced them.
