♡9 : The Argument

"Yes, she teaches in a school" Samantha told Zach

Zach went quiet for sometime. A shot of anger passed through his face. Amelia could sense something was to come. She could see it in his expression.

"This is ridiculous, I have never seen anyone being so careless about oneself," He hurled angrily at Amelia. "You make me feel guilty.....," He stopped at that. Amelia was quick to ask, "Guilty? Guilty of what?"

"Of confirming your fears by telling you the truth about your husband," He looked at her intensely.

"It's nothing to do with you saying anything"

"Maybe, Maybe not," He shrugged. "I don't know what your personal issues are but I shouldn't have, at least you wouldn't be facing what you are facing now," He said sharply.

"Zach, Believe me, I and Jacob had a lot of differences before your saying anything," She said in an assuring voice.

"But, it was after my interference that you left and now you're here like this"

"You do not have to feel guilty about it. Whatsoever. I did, was my decision, my choice"

"Why?"

"I didn't want to live with him anymore"

"It's not helping at all because no matter what you say, I do know that it's my interference that lead to what has happened"

Samantha was quietly listening to the two of them as they argued over it. She could see Zach was genuinely feeling sorry for how Amelia.

"Please, Zach. I don't need pity" Amelia said in a tight-lipped tone.

"I'm not pitying you. What I do not like is the idea of you working given your conditions and situations"

"I'm doing fine"

"Is she, Samantha?" Zach asked

She made a disapproving face, which made Amelia mad and she said in bewilderment,"I don't understand..."

"Stop being stubborn about it, Amelia. It's not going to help you," He said to her and then shifting his gaze at Samantha informed her,"She fainted and Doctor has instructed to take extra care and precautions. He said she is too weak and this amount of stress is not good at this phase."

Samantha looked worried after hearing this. Amelia always told her that. Doctor said she is fine and so is her pregnancy, but it now appeared to her that she didn't said the full story because she didn't wanted to worry her and moreover wanted to work to earn money to see things off when the time of delivery comes. Samantha felt sad, she understands Amelia but she couldn't see her suffering this much.

Amelia found herself avoiding her gaze. Her compassionate friend mirrored an anger which she cannot take. She cursed Zach for this. She knew what she is doing can be risky for her and her baby, but she has no alternatives and she does not want to get any assistance from anyone. Samantha is already doing a lot for her by being with her through thick and thin, she does not want Samantha to help her financially as well. She cannot take that. It might sound stupid, she can always repay her back, but she cannot ask more from her. This is how she is and no matter what happens, she cannot alter her nature. No one understands this. Not even Samantha.

"You are not able to take the pressure but you just won't listen." Samantha said with motherly anger and concern.

Amelia made a sad face,"Then what do you suggest I do?" She asked Samantha but it was Zach who replied,"Come with me."
