It had been two weeks since I took Millie and the kids for ice cream. Two weeks since I practically confessed I wanted her, I though things would change between us but it didn't, she had started her new job which meant we hardly saw one another I'd mustered up enough courage to send her a few messages asking how the job was going, and how she has been. But I wished it was more.

I was seated in the children's assembly waiting for Millie and Dylan to come on stage, there had already been a few children already on the stage, there was a group of dancers, a teenage boy doing some magic which I had to admit was impressive, if he stuck to magic I'd reckon he could have a career init. There was also and father and son duet, they was singing, they was amazing the fathers voice was raspy but he could definitely hold a steady note and it was clear his son got the gift of singing from his father.

I waited in anticipation to see her, I couldn't believe it when Dylan told me she sang, I mean we haven't ever spoke about our hidden talents it never came up in conversation, come to think of it I'm falling in love with someone I dont know that much about, I needed to change that. I wanted to know everything about her, what she liked, what she didn't what are her strengths, her weakness. I'd happily listen to hear speak about herself for hours without getting bored I just craved being around her, she had this energy around her that was addictive.

Just as the act if dancers came to an end there was a loud applause and whistles from the audience, all the girls took a quick bail before running off the stage. Daniel lent over to me letting me know Millie and Dylan were up next, I showed him a small nod before bringing my attention back onto the empty stage.

There was now silence filling around the room as we all waited for the next act. My heart was thumbing against my chest at the though of watching Millie on the stage, so exposed and open for everyone to see and judge. I swear I better now hear any of the parents mock her becuase honestly I'm not sure I could be held accountable for my actions. I didn't care if she sounded like a strangled cat it took fucking balls to get up on that stage and I'm pretty sure none of them would do it.

I inhaled deeply trying to contain the fear and anger I was beginning to feel as my mind continued to play out scenarios that hadn't even happened yet.

Then I saw her, fuck.

She looked absolutely stunning.

Her platinum blonde hair was pulled back into a messy bun, she wore a red plain baggy dress that feel off her shoulders, those large aqua eyes scanning the crowd, you could see she was riddled with fear as she brought her shaky hands up to the mic, drawing in a deep breaths before letting it out slowly, she kept peeking over at Dylan who was plugging his electric guitar into the amp that was placed at the corner of the stage, he strummed the cords with his guitar pick, it must have been in tune because he showed Millie a small nod before playing the intro to the song.

I recognised the song instantly, snow patrol - Chasing cars, a small smile forced on my lips as I carried on watching Millie, you could see she was preparing herself to start, she gripped hold of the microphone that was on a stand, closed her eyes and allowed her voice to lead her through.

The minute she began to sing the first verse I had this sudden burst of calmness wash through my body, I was memorized by her, she sounded like an angel, I continuted to watch her in complete awe. She truly was incredible.

Her angelic voice continued to echo all around us, she held each note perfectly as well as adding in her twist to the song with different runs, she sounded phenomenal I never wanted the song to end.
