you knew there was a small chance antonio and his ex-wife would reconcile, but you didn't think it would be 6 months into your relationship.
antonio didn't want to tell you about it until he knew how he felt and knew what he wanted to do.
"laura wants to work it out" he says as he takes your hand in his. you give him a sad smile
"well what do you want" you say softly
"i'm so, so sorry, but i owe it to my kids to at least try work it out with their mother" he says, bracing himself for your reaction
"oh okay. yeah of course, i get it" you say as you take a deep breath. you pull away from him and stand up. "um.. i'm gonna go get my stuff together" you say as you wipe away a tear and head towards the bedroom.
"i still care for yo-"
you stop him, "don't make this harder than it already is, please"
antonio follows you into the bedroom, "you're taking this surprisingly well" he says quietly
"i'm not mad, just sad" you shrug, "but i get it, and i want you to be happy" you give him a tearful smile
"i don't want you think i wasn't happy in our relationship" he shakes his head
"but you can be even happier, with laura" you sigh.
he doesn't say anything, just looks at you with sad eyes.
"i'll be fine, antonio. really." you give him a tight smile and you walk out of room, out of the apartment, and out of his life
