Bouncing this ball for days on end has definitely improved my hand-eye coordination. And it's my only source of entertainment. There is suddenly pounding on the door making me jump as I catch the ball after I throw it.
"Prisoner 193, stand up and face the wall," a guard orders. I let out a sigh; it's visiting day. I wonder who came to see me, seeing as my family hates me and I don't have any friends. I do as I'm told when the door opens and footsteps come closer. A few seconds later, I feel a pair of handcuffs wrap around my wrists. The guards lead me through the ship to the visiting area where I see someone I don't expect.
"Hello, Aiden," Abby greets. I stare at her, my face blank as the guards sit me in a chair across from her.
"What are you doing here?" I spit as the guards chain my hands to the table.
Abby looks at me, her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. "Is it a crime to want to see my daughter?"
I scoff, "It's been two years. Two years of absolute silence from you and Dad. What changed? You didn't seem to want to see me two years ago when Jaha made you choose between Clarke and I."
Abby sighs, running a hand over her face. "Aiden, it's a long story. I didn't have a choice."
I raise my eyebrows at her. "Oh, really? You didn't have a choice? Everyone has a choice, you just chose wrong."
Abby purses her lips and I roll my eyes. "What do you want, Abby?"
The woman seems almost in shock I didn't call her mom. "Oh, I'm sorry. Was I supposed to call you mom? Guess what; you don't deserve to be called Mom. You may have given birth to me, but you aren't my mother."
Just then, the unexpected happens. Abby slaps me. My face stings so much it makes my eyes water. I stare at her in complete and utter shock.
"Don't you ever speak to me like that again," she said quietly.
I feel anger boil inside of me. "What the hell is wrong with you? Do you even know what it's like being dragged away from your family for something you have absolutely no control over? I committed a crime so severe that they'll surely float me for when I'm 18, all because you chose Clarke over me! You are such a bitch!"
I feel two guards grab my arms as I attempt to attack Abby. They unchain me and begin dragging me away. I keep screaming at the top of my lungs, not caring that everyone is watching.
"I hope you go to hell and burn! You coward! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!"
I lie awake, not able to fall asleep. The sound of the insects and animals comfort me but also scare me. Bored out of my mind, I decide to go out for a walk. I grab my hatchet and walk out of my tent before going into the woods, making sure no one had seen me. I want to be alone right now.
I walk around the woods, searching for my special spot I found last night. I know I found it because there's a mark in two of the trees; the first one, where I had thrown my hatchet for practice and the other where I had purposefully thrown it at Bellamy and missed. I decide to head to the first tree for some more target practice.
I raise my hatchet, aim, and throw it, hitting the tree dead on. I repeat the action over and over until I feel myself growing tired. At one point, I almost miss the tree, and decide to call it quits for the night and head back to camp. I climb over logs and stumps and grab my hatchet from the tree before heading back to camp, going straight to my tent.
