Clarke hasn't been back for a little while and it's starting to concern me. I decided to go to our bunks to see if she's there. When I reached the bunks, she wasn't there. When I walked toward her bunk, I noticed blood on it. I shook my head, letting out a sigh. She's in medical. I just need a way to get in there. I walked to medical. I lied to the doctor, saying my leg kind of hurt. She checked on it.
"It might just be because you've overused it," she stated. "For the time being, why don't you stay here and get some rest."
I nodded, giving her a tight-lipped smile, laying back on the bed. When she left, I sat back up.
"Where the hell are you, Clarke?" I muttered. "And how do the doctors not see you're gone?"
I looked around the room for any place Clarke could have escaped from. A large, circular, steel grate on the wall near the door caught my attention. "Jackpot."
°°°
I crawled through the tunnel that the steel grate had led to. When I reached the end, I saw two grounders, strung up, being drained of their blood. Damn, that's brutal. I'm guessing that's how that guy's radiation burns have almost completely disappeared. I heard about how we can filter radiation through our bodies like the grounders; that's how we can survive in the ground. However, since we were born in space, and there's more radiation in space, we filter is better than the grounders.
"Aiden?" I heard Clarke say, surprised.
I spun around to see her carrying Anya. "Clarke. Anya? How the hell did you find this place?"
"I followed the tubing in medical," Clarke answered. "You?"
"I followed you. I may have picked up a thing or two from Finn."
Clarke nodded. "Here, help me get Anya through that door."
I turned to my left to see an enormous steel door. What is with this place and huge steel doors? I nodded at Clarke, helping her open it. I then put Anya's right arm over my shoulder, helping Clarke keep her up. The door led into a small room with a large steel hatch on the floor. The sound of doors behind us closing made me soon around. I bit my lip as Clarke tried to get them open, but it was no use. An alarm sounding made me jump a little.
"What is that?" Anya asked weakly.
Clarke backed away from the door, standing to my right. She looked at us and shook her head. "I don't- ah!"
I screamed as we fell through the floor. We slid down a chute and landed, painfully, in a steel cart. I groaned in pain as my back hit the metal. When I opened my eyes, I gasped when I saw the face of a dead grounder. I'm not laying on metal; I'm laying on grounders, or possibly soon to be dead grounders. I jumped out of the cart.
"Anya, take my hand," Clarke said, holding her hand out for the grounder to take. Anya took it and I helped Clarke pull her out of the cart.
The grounder leaned against the cart, catching her breath as I looked around. To my left, I noticed a door, causing me to smile slightly. "We're out."
I let out a quiet laugh. I knew there was something up with that place.
"Hey," I heard Clarke say. "Come on. Get dressed. We can't cover any ground like this."
I looked at her. She was taking clothes off of dead grounders; clothes that looked much better than my sky blue t-shirt, tennis shoes, and Capri pants. Anya shook her head. "I won't leave my people behind."
Clarke stood from her crouched position and walked back to Anya. "Anya, listen. Mine and Aiden's people are still inside that place, too. But they have guards. They have weapons. Once we get out of here, we can find help. We can come back--"
