Chapter 75 - What Is It Darling?

"Hey what's going on Bud?" Andrew asked as his roommate/best friend came storming through the apartment while he spoke with Jasmine and his own girlfriend.
"I have to go talk to Maya. It's urgent," Josh said.
"Is something wrong? You don't seem very positive," Jasmine said.
"Well I don't know. Her mother's boyfriend called me saying that I should maybe come to talk to her. I know when Shawn Hunter doesn't say what is going on there's trouble," Josh said.
"When who doesn't say what's going on there's trouble?" Charlotte asked coming through.
"Charlotte! My goodness how are you?" Josh asked.
"I'm good. Now who are you talking about?" Charlotte asked.

"He finally got together with Maya," Jasmine said.
"I'm happy for you guys. But wait. Is something wrong with her?" Charlotte asked.
"I don't know. Her mom's boyfriend just said to me I must talk to her. Which I'm gonna do right now. I'll leave you four to chat. Don't destroy the dorm," Josh said and was gone.

Maya was sitting on her bed trying to still catch up with schoolwork since she hasn't done it quite since she's been in the hospital since February and barely got out.
Tears are falling from her face and she tries to figure out what is going on.
She doesn't know how she is going to handle her father, the man that abused her as a young toddler.

Josh climbs through her window without her noticing but he immediately noticed she was crying.
It broke his heart knowing that he isn't going to be able to help her but he is going to try.

"What is it Darling?" Josh asked making Maya look up.
"Shawn called ya, hey?" Maya asked as she sat up straight and Josh sat down next her.
"Yeah he did. What is wrong?" Josh asked.
"My father wants to see me," Maya said and Josh's eyes widened.
"Your biological father? I don't know what to say. What does he want?" Josh asked.
"Just to see me but I don't want to. I can't face him after all these years Josh," Maya said and Josh pulled her close.
"You don't have to. Listen you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Take your time," Josh said.
"Which I don't have. I'm scared. I don't want to go to him. What if he..."

Maya didn't finish her sentence.
She was very scared of her father and without even noticing it she knows that Josh is broken to see her like that.
But what could she do?
She doesn't want to see that man who claims to be her father.
That is the last thing she needs right now.
