It was about a week later since Maya heard the news and she wasn't very happy about anything.
Katy and Shawn have also been acting more strange by the day and Maya has no idea how she is going to get it done.
She was wandering around the house as she just doesn't know what to answer her mother who is waiting for an answer.

"Maya you know you'll have to see him. You don't have a choice. He is your father," Katy said.
"My father? Did you forget who he is or what he did to us? I'm not seeing him," Maya said.
"Would you stop being so stubborn? He is your father and whether you like it or not you are seeing him. If he wants he can take me to court if you refuse to see him," Katy said.
"Well not even a court can force her to see that man. Katy she is right. She doesn't have to see him if she doesn't want to. Who are we to force her?" Shawn asked.
"Please don't discuss this with Mr Matthews. Nobody besides Josh knows how he treated me. I want to keep it that way," Maya said.
"You shy of it?" Shawn asked.
"No Shawn. But I haven't trusted Riley enough yet," Maya said
"It's twelve, April. We'll give... I will give you until Friday," Katy said.
"Fine I have to get going. School doesn't wait up," Maya said.

"He's here," Katy said and Maya turned around.
"What?" Maya said her reaction being blinded.
"Your father is in Greenwich Village. Please come to the bakery this afternoon. He'll be there," Katy said.
"Fine. I'll see you guys then," Maya said and was out the door.

"What am I going to do? I can't go see him. I can't. I..."
"Okay calm down," Josh said placing his hand on his girlfriend's shoulder.

It was still early after school closed but Maya is definitely in a state.
How he is going to fix it he doesn't know.
But he has to do something.

"Okay Darling. Maybe you should just calm down and take a deep breathe. If you prefer it like that I'll go with you. You don't have to be afraid," Josh said.
"It's the same man who abused me at three years old Josh," Maya said.
"And he's not getting you down. I promise. Listen this is just a formality. I'll go with. It's no problem. Let's go right now," Josh said.

It was later at the bakery and everyone was waiting anxiously for Maya's father to show up.
Since she hasn't told anyone since ten minutes ago she is nerves about how everything is going to go.

"Peaches," Riley said making Maya turn around facing her father.
"Hi Maya."
"Hi Dad," Maya said as she swallowed hard.
"I'm glad you're here."
"Well Mom was so afraid you would sue her if I didn't so I had no choice," Maya said and Katy stood up.

"Yeah. Looks like you haven't changed a bit. Carter must be taking a lot on," Katy said.
"Caroline actually and we're just fine. And you are?"
"Shawn Hunter. Katy's boyfriend," Shawn said.
"Kermit Hart. Nice to meet you. Do you mind if we quickly talked outside?" Kermit asked.
"Yeah," Maya said.
"Maya?" Josh said and you could see the worry in his eye.
"I'm okay Josh. I promise."

"Who is that?" Kermit asked as soon as they were far enough that nobody could hear them.
"My boyfriend and before you start with the news he lecture about him he makes me happy."
"Josh, right? I recognized him from the photos your mother send me," Kermit said.
"What happened to Aunt Karen or is that something else I don't want to know about?"
"Got divorced two years ago. I'm really glad I got the opportunity to talk to you. I needed to..."
"Well I needed my father and not thr one who hit me at three years old," Maya said and a Kermit sighed.
"You look happy," Kermit said smiling.
"I am. For the first time in my life am I happy. Don't take it away from me," Maya said and Kermit gave her a smile.
"I won't. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for how I did treat you. I'll never forgive myself. And I hope that one day you will not blame yourself. I have to go," Kermit said standing up.
"I don't blame myself. But I do wish I saw who you were earlier," Maya said and Kermit was off.

Maya sat down on the stairs as she let the tears finally come out which she has been hiding for everyone.
She couldn't anymore.
She just wanted everything to go away.

Josh came out of Topanga's seeing that Maya's father left and saw her sitting aside.
It definitely wasn't nice to see her like that but what could he do?
The past few weeks he had to stop her from breaking down.
Now he can't do anything.
He sat down next to her and pulled her close as she buried her face in his chest.
