"Cody, come on. You have ten minutes before we leave!" Charlie yelled from the living room.
He wants me to go meet my therapist today, his name is Mr. Green. Eryk said he's talked to him before and he's really nice but I'm not ready to open up...not just to him but to anyone. I wonder if it'll be okay if he does most of the talking and I can just sit and listen, I don't mind lectures that much. Unless they come from Charlie.
I put on a pair of black pants and this grey button-down shirt that Charlie told me to wear. I have to go to talk to someone and now I have to dress presentably. This is censorship. Eryk came inside to get into his clothes after his shower and we both went downstairs for some breakfast."Remember Cody, he polite, be respectful, and try to talk to him. He's there to help you." Charlie said as he put bacon on my plate.
"Yeah I know...I've heard it all before." I whispered under my breath and he ignored it.
"Everyone is really nice there and the receptionist is really hot." Eryk whispered across the table.
"Good, at least I have something to look forward to."
We both laughed but ate our breakfast in silence once Charlie sat down to join us.
It was only a twenty minute drive to the agency and the car ride was also silent. I think Charlie knows I'm mad at him for making me go and Eryk probably feels to awkward to say anything. I don't like therapy, there's no point in talking to someone that I don't know for the purpose of letting my anger out. I prefer reading or playing baseball instead because it actually clears my thoughts.
"Eryk do you have your stress balls?" Charlie asked as he put the truck in park.
"Yes Charlie." He rolled his eyes and felt for them in his pocket.
"Okay I'm just making sure, remember what the agency said, another slip up and you're gone."
"Yes I know." He took a deep breath and got out of the truck. "I can show Cody around so you don't have to." He offered.
"No I have to sign some papers and talk about scheduling." He got out as well.
We walked inside and the receptionist was, as Eryk mentioned, really pretty. She had long black hair, dark skin, and giant brown eyes. Her red lipstick complimented her navy blue blouse and she left me speechless.
"Cody and Eryk here to see the two therapists." Charlie said to her politely.
"Of course, how are you boys?" She smiled at both of us.
"Fine thank you, and yourself?" Eryk said eagerly.
"Good thank you. Eryk you can go on ahead, Cody I will show you your way to Mr. Green's room."
I looked up at Charlie and he nodded his head.
"I'll pick you both up in two hours." He said before sending us off.
Eryk turned to the right and began walking down on hallway while the receptionist stood and motioned me to follow her. The walls were a light beige and the carpet was as well, they tried to brighten the room with some colorful furniture but it doesn't work in my opinion.
"You'll love Mr.Green, he is so friendly and very good at his work."
I nodded my head when she looked back because I didn't respond. At the far end of the hallway, almost the last door, was Mr. Green's office. She knocked twice and a deep voice instructed her to come in.
"Mr. Green, this is Cody." She placed her hand on my shoulder and smiled.
"Yes, Cody," He stood up and walked closer to me. "I'm so glad you're here today."
