ERYK'S POV:

Today is the day! Today is finally Friday and that means it's the day I get to see what Natalie is like outside of class, outside of school in general and maybe we can start something more definite now. I have a million ideas rushing into my head of what's going to happen this weekend but one thing is for sure, it's going to be epic. Her brother was kind enough to come and pick me up, he said somewhere around noon, but it's only a quarter after eight.

"Are you really combing your hair?" Cody asked me from the doorway.

"Shut up." I smiled and flicked his arm with the comb. "You should learn how to knock anyway."

"I need to take a piss and this is the bathroom so..." He pursed his lips and rolled his eyes.

"You're annoying."

"Move before I mess up your hair." He pushed me to the side, a little angry that I'm going away for the weekend and he's stuck at home.

"Please, like you could even reach it small-fry."

"Hey!" He pushed me again but this time he wiped some toothpaste on my shirt.

"Shit Cody! This was my last good shirt!" I stormed out of the bathroom in search of another blue shirt.

I had to settle for my old green one which, even though it still was fine, wasn't as satisfactory as my newer one. I took my duffle bag and carried it downstairs to the kitchen where Charlie was cooking us breakfast.

"Do you have everything?" Charlie gave me two eggs and a side of bacon.

"Yes sir." I said, probably the most enthusiastic I've ever said that to be honest since there was nothing that could ruin this day.

"Are you sure? Your phone charger? I will be calling to check in on you and I'll be very angry if my phone calls are ignored."

"My phone charger is in my bag, I got everything Charlie and I'll be sure to behave." I said quickly so he would stop nagging me.

"By behave he means sucking faces with his girlfriend." Code came downstairs and sat at the table with us.

"She is not my girlfriend." I justified again, but as soon as Charlie looked away I shot him a wink.

"That's enough, eat your breakfast." Charlie said wile trying to hide his smile.

After breakfast, I noticed that I was checking my watch every five minutes only to see that two minutes had passed. I couldn't wait for that clock to turn to noon and wait for the heads up text message from Natalie saying they were here.

"Hey, are you ready for this weekend?" She texted me.

Okay, wait Eryk. Don't respond immediately. Be a guy, be cool. I sat my phone down and turned on the tv in the living room, Cody joined me shortly after and we just watched the highlights from the baseball game.

"Yeah, I'm all set and packed." I responded subtly, it wasn't too excited but it also had enough enthusiasm to get me going.

It was getting close to noon, only forty minutes away and I was getting more and more excited. I looked over at Cody and he just seemed to slouch down as the clock's hand continued to move. The other day I suggested that Cody stay at his friends house this weekend and Charlie was all for it until Cody's outburst after school the other day. He's on house arrest.

"Don't make that face Cody, you could play your video games." I suggested but he didn't seem interested.

"It's my first weekend alone with Charlie, I'm not exactly thrilled at the idea."
