Chapter 11 - Compliments
[Next day]
Never tired, never tired
I been sipping, that's the only thing that's keeping me on fire, me on fire
Didn't mean to spill that liquor all on my attire
I've been drinking watermelon
“I want your body right here, daddy I want you, right now, can’t keep your eyes off my fatty daddy I want y—”
“Aimee! Stop being such a slut!”
A loud sarcastic voice interrupts my quiet singing, forcing me to pull both my earphones out of my ears and turn my body around on my desk chair to face Tibby. She frowns in an ironic way, making me laugh out loud, extending my lips into a genuine grin. I pause my music on my phone.
“Sorry, I was just singing the lyrics,” I say in an innocent voice, resting my hands on my lap, toying with my earphones that wrap around my fingers, “you know I wouldn’t say that in real life.”
Tibby scrunches up her face, lifting herself from lying on her bed. She crosses her long legs together, placing her hands in her lap and opening her mouth to produce another remark that makes me grin wider.
“I was being sarcastic, Aimee.” I nod, agreeing with her comment. I bite the inside of my cheek, looking down at my hands while looping my earphones through my fingers, totally forgetting about doing my homework. I only have a little bit to do, but hey, it’s a Sunday afternoon and I really can’t be bothered solving maths equations. My eyes glance up to Tibby where she taps her fingers on her knees, averting her eyes to the wall beside her. Her little hums fill the quiet space between us, creating a comfortable atmosphere in the air.
“Why are you so quiet today, huh?” Tibby asks, finally resting her soft eyes on mine. My lips are pressed into a thin line, not really considering how quiet I’ve been today. Personally, I’m quiet, which makes me shy. I don’t really talk much, seeing as how different I am to all those typical girls out there. I just shrug my shoulders, unsure of what kind of answer Tibby is looking for.
“You were really quiet yesterday too.” My mind rewound back to yesterday’s outing, movies and shopping. True, I didn’t talk much, but I kind of felt pressured to keep quiet because nerves got in the way. My friends always talked about boys and makeup, never really asking me for any opinions. It’s like I wasn’t even there.
“Well, there really wasn’t much to talk about.” My purple eyes roll in a full circle, adding in a little white lie. There were heaps to talk about yesterday, I just wasn’t interested in them. How many times can you talk about boys and makeup? Not enough apparently.
Tibby tilted her head to the side, going through thoughts in her head. She heaves her chest while breathing, showing off her beautiful tanned chest through her white t-shirt. Her light brown hair flows around her, creating a perfect sight in front of my eyes. It’s angelic — almost. The blue jeans she wears matches wonderfully with her whole appearance, giving her that extra attractiveness, but not really meaning to.
