"Ryan, have you seen my curling iron?" Valerie asked coming out of the bathroom as Ryan was sitting back on the bed watching TV"No, it should be where you left it the last time."
"Well it's not." She said as her phone started ringing and it was Jeremiah
"Hi pumpkin, how are you doing?"
"Mom, could you come over here please I don't feel so good." He groaned
"Oh no sweetie what's wrong?"
"Who is that?" Ryan asked getting off the bed
"It's Jeremiah,"
"Oh really? He finds time to call you but can't do anything I tell him to do." He said taking the phone from Val
"You can't hide from me forever, you're in big trouble with me and you know it!" He said as Val took the phone back"I'll be over as soon as I can." She said as she hung the phone up
"I'm going with you, there's nothing wrong with him. He's nothing but a big faker just like his brothers."
Later on Val and Ryan made it to Jeremiah's house. "Oh look at my poor baby, you look so drained. Are you alright?" Val asked as Jeremiah answered the door and she made him go and sit down
"My stomach hurts and I have a fever." He moaned
"You poor thing, lay on down." She said as he laid back on the couch and Ryan folded his arms
"Ain't nothing wrong with him, he looks just fine to me."
"He's burning up, did you eat anything today?"
"No, I don't have the energy to get anything."
"Ok, well I'll make you some homemade soup, how does that sound?"
He smiled, "Sounds good, thank you mommy."
"You're welcome sweetie." She said getting up and going in the kitchen while Ryan stayed behind and glared at Jeremiah
"I find it really funny you turn up sick when you're supposed to be doing a job that should've been taken care of two days ago, so what happened?"
"What happened was, the twins were supposed to come with me but they never showed up so I waited around for a bit and I accidentally fell asleep and then I woke up with a stomach ache and I've been throwing up ever since."
"That's not a good enough excuse, you will be the one to lead the family and assume responsibility, so when you decide to come off your sickbed you're punishment will be waiting."
"Yes sir."
"Wonderful, now you can get your ass up and make your own damn soup. You ain't no fucking baby."
"Mom said I had to lie down." He said as Ryan scoffed
"Your mom doesn't run shit, I do. If I tell her to jump, she says how high?"
"Really?"
"Yes really."
"Mom!" Jeremiah yelled
"Hey what the hell you doin?" Ryan asked as Val came back in the living room
"Hey mom, dad said that he-" Before Jeremiah could finish his sentence Ryan stepped in
"This boy just be talking, he doesn't know when to shut up sometimes, don't pay him any attention baby."
"Are you in here messing with my baby?"
