Chapter 36: Extensive Advice

"How have things been going so far for you Dylan?"

"I would say okay, Mia and I are getting along quite well. We haven't had any major fights in a while, just little spats here and there."

"What kind of spats?"

"The latest one was about my biological mother."

"Did something come up? A behavior triggered you in some way?"

"She showed up to one of my games, and ran up to me crying and hugging me, and said that she missed me and was proud."

"And how did that make you feel?" She asked as he began to ball his fist up and slowly release
"It's okay, you're safe and I want you to be honest with me and yourself."

"Angry, betrayed, hurt. Where was this admiration when I needed it the most?"

"She was going through her own struggles with drug abuse and physical, and emotional abuse from your father. She was incapable of providing you the love and admiration you're looking for."

"But why should I be okay with her existence now? She wasn't there putting me through college, and there to witness me making it to the pros. I did it without her, so why should I allow her back into my life. I made it without any help from her or my rotten father, why should they come back and take claim in my success now?"

"And they don't have to because you make the rules of your own life. If you don't want them involved then they won't. I'm sure you have your own personal circle you surround yourself with that if you want something taken care of they'll make sure to take care of whatever it is you want done. It's okay to disconnect from toxic people, they mean you no good. You want to do what's best for the betterment of yourself and your family."

It's been a few days since Francisco went out with Lilly and ever since then he's been completely head over heels thinking about her every single day.

His thoughts are completely taken over by Lilly and just how wonderful she is. Just being around her is addicting and intoxicating as he just can't get enough, he wants more

Immediately after their first date he asked for a second one and was also brave enough to get her phone number as well.

He hasn't bothered her every hour like he wants to talk to her as much as possible but he understands that she's busy and doesn't seem like the type to have be interested in long conversations, so he keeps everything short and sweet, and so far she's been really receptive to that

Francisco was in his office looking up different designers for something nice to get Lilly for their next date.

He saw Diana walking by as he quickly got up and asked her to help him. "If I'm going to be giving you advice on successfully dating my sister, I need to at least get paid for it."

"Fine, how much?"

"Give me five grand, plus two extra weeks of personal time off."

"Deal." He said as she stuck her hand out

"I don't operate like that, I need my money upfront or we have no deal."

He got a checkbook from the top drawer and wrote a check to Diana and gave it to her as she smiled and sat down. "Wonderful, now we can get started. Where do you plan on taking her out to next?"

"I found this other fancy restaurant that I think she would like."

"Nope, you took her to a restaurant the last time. She likes variety and excitement, do something that she's not expecting you to do, you really like her right?"

"Yes I do."

"And you want to sleep with her right?"

"Well, it's not my main motivation. I do want to make her happy first and foremost." He said as she rolled her eyes

"Let's cut the bullshit, you like my sister because she looks good and you want to be with her, and ultimately fuck her which is totally fine, it's human nature. I'm sure deep down she wants you to fuck her, so let's get down to what's really important."

"Ok, I can respect your honesty. What do you think I should do?"

"If I were you, I'd take her to a nice fair. She loves the Ferris wheel, funnel cakes, and Chilli cheese fries. Extra points if you buy her a large teddy bear before you leave and end your night at the beach, listening to the waves and watching the moon reflect off the water. Occasionally she'll like to hunt for crabs, but I'm sure she'll probably be too tired to try from the fair."

"What kind of gift should I give her starting off? Does she have a favorite brand?"

"I would hold off on the expensive gifts right now. That's all other men do is buy her gifts to impress and she feels that it's another way for men to buy her love. Granted, Lilly is a spoiled individual, however she does want to be treated like any other woman and that's be loved and shown genuine affection. Save the gifts for when it really matters like after a month of dating or she mentions a significant date and you remember."

"Is there anything else that I should know? Like her favorite color or something that she doesn't like?"

"Her favorite color is purple and she doesn't like white wine."

"Thank you, I'll keep all of this in mind and I thank you very much for the advice."

"No problem and remember, be yourself, stay calm and whatever you do don't give in to her easily because she's the type to try you and see just how far she can get away with things from you. You have to be a bit firm and really mean it for her to know you're serious, otherwise she'll walk all over you and think nothing of it."

"Okay, I think I have a good idea of what to do next. I really appreciate you helping me out."

"I honestly don't mind, as long as you're willing to pay me extra I'm all for helping you out. Just know I'm available and so is my bank account."

What do you think about Dylan going to his therapy session expressing how he's upset with his parents, specifically his mother for not being there for him.

How/will he overcome this problem?

It looks like Francisco is falling head over heels for Lilly and wants to do everything to impress her.

Does she feel the same way about him? Or will the feelings emerge in due time?
