Chapter 14: Big News

"Your mom's going to be so excited once we tell her that we're engaged." Dylan said to Mia as they walked hand in hand through the hospital

"More than you know." Mia said lowly

Dylan knocked on her door and peeped his hand around the door. "Momma Tricia, it's me, Dylan." He said as she happily perked up

"Oh Dylan! Come in!"

"I brought Mia along with me, we have a little surprise for you." He said as they walked to her bedside and Dylan flashed her Mia's huge engagement ring

Mia could see the dollar signs dancing in her mom's eyes as she pretended to act genuinely happy, but first chance she gets, she's going to be constantly demanding Mia for money. "Oh! My baby is getting married! How lovely! She couldn't get married to a better man." Tricia smiled

"Thank you, momma, I'm glad you approve." Dylan said as he bent down to hug her

"Of course, you're already like family to me."

"May I use your bathroom for a second?"

"Oh sure, go right ahead." She said as Dylan went into the bathroom and Tricia turned her attention to Mia

"It's about time you start using your brain, now we'll both be taken care of."

"Momma, the money can only go so far." Mia said as Tricia scoffed

"He signed a guaranteed seven figure deal, plus he comes from money, what more could you possibly ask for."

"I didn't come to talk about money, we came to tell you about our engagement." Mia said as they heard the loud flushing and the sink turning on in the bathroom

"Fine, but don't spoil this opportunity. I refuse to go back to working a regular job." She said as Dylan came out of the bathroom

"Thank you, momma, I put everything back the way you had it."

"Thank you, dearie. So, when's the wedding?"

"Well, right now we're not too focused on that right now."

"What? Why not?"

"We want to get a few things settled before we take that big step and Mia has agreed that we should work things out before I can officially call her my wife." He said

"Marriage isn't a perfect thing, you'll always have your differences."

"Yes we know, but we can't ignore this problem and we won't marry until it's settled." He said as Tricia sighed

"Alright, I guess there's no more that I can say to change your mind. So what now?"

"After this, we're heading over to his parents house, they're throwing us a celebration party and they've invited his brothers and sisters to come join."

"You Did What?!" Zayn asked Isaiah as Isaiah was frantically pacing the floor
"I cannot believe what I just heard!"

"Heard what?" Jeremiah asked walking inside of the din as he sat on the edge of the sofa

"Tell him, Saiah, tell him what you just told me."

Isaiah stopped pacing the floor and took a deep breath, "I'm gonna be a dad." He said and Jeremiah jumped up

"You're What?! Dad's gonna kill you, forreal this time."

"I know, but maybe it won't be so bad because I'm out of the house and I make my own living, sort of."

Jeremiah laughed, "Yo! Lil needs to hear this." He said as he left the din to go find Lilly

"How did you let this happen?" Zayn asked
