Chapter 29: Stepping Out

*I'm back! Sorry it took me so long, I had got sick for like two weeks and my allergies made everything worse and now with everything going on, I'm out of work for about three weeks or so, so I'll have some time to write, if I can ever get to focus🥴😝*

Three weeks later

Jeremiah tried calling Ryan's phone but he wouldn't answer, so since he was out he decided that he'll stop by the house and see him

He used his key to go inside as it was quiet. "Dad! It's me, Jeremiah! You here?"

He walked into the kitchen as there was some food on the stove and it was still hot so someone had to be there.

"Mom! Dad!" He called as he went upstairs and went searching in the rooms. Ryan's office door was open as Jeremiah went to push it open and suddenly Ryan appeared from behind the door, startling Jeremiah

"Dad, you scared me." Jeremiah said as Ryan quickly grabbed him and began choking him

"This is all your fault!"

"Dad! What the hell are you talking about?! Let me go!" Jeremiah struggled to get Ryan's hands from around his neck and then finally Ryan let him go by shoving him into the wall
"Dad, what's your problem?"

"You're my problem, with your weak ass." Ryan said as he plopped down on the couch

"I'm not weak, I just don't wanna hurt you."

Ryan scoffed, "Yeah right, I don't care who it is, if anyone tries to choke me I'm knocking their ass out."

"Well I tried that once before and it didn't go too swell, so I learned my lesson in not trying to fight you. So what's apparently my fault? What did I do now?"

"When you called asking me for help three weeks ago and I had to leave, I've been in the doghouse with Valerie ever since. She kicked me out of bed."

"I'm sorry dad, no wonder you look like shit. Maybe I could talk to her for you and straighten it out."

"It's no use, she's already moved on."

"So she's not mad at you anymore?"

"No, but I'm mad at myself for driving her away and letting things get this far." He said sadly

"What are you talking about dad?"

"I.. I think Valerie is having an affair."

"No way dad, mom loves you way too much to ever think about doing something like that. Sure, she may be mad at you, but mom would never do anything like that."

"I didn't want to believe it either, until I seen it with my own eyes and heard it." He heavily sighed as Jeremiah sadly frowned

"No way, not mom. How did you find out?"

"One day I decided I'll follow her since she out of nowhere started leaving in the morning and coming back late at night. She went to some man's house and stayed there all day and he was saying how nice she looked and he's so glad she came over and he couldn't wait to get her in the bedroom."

"How do you know he said all of that?"

"Oh yeah, I had a spy microphone put in her phone, for emergency purposes only, this is my first time ever having to use it."

"So then what happened?"

"They went in the room, she was taking her clothes off and he said that she looks tremendous and asked will your husband be okay with sharing and Val said what my husband doesn't know, won't hurt, it's not like he gives a damn about me and then I hear the bed moving and her giggling and saying that feels nice and I just couldn't take it anymore." He said as he started crying and Jeremiah rushed to his side and put his arm around him
