The Vampire's Mate

Chapter 35

I karate chop the hell out of Hunter.

"YOU SHAN'T HURT MY FRIENDS! DIE YOU DEMON!" I yell as I trying defeating him with my hands.

"Soraaaaaaa! Noooooooooooooooo!" Lucy groans as her face turns bright red. I hop off of her and huff, why can't I beat him up? Wait a minute..... Why does he have a heartbeat!? The fuck?

"Hunter is Lucy's maateee," Jenna sings. What is she on? She's too happy today. 

"Impossible! What's about Jay?" I ask.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out, have you noticed that the wolves here all seem to feel the mate connection with people that aren't their mates," Hunter ponders, stroking his nonexistent beard. 

"That's true, who do you thing did it?" I ask. One minute, he's the enemy, the next, he's an ally.

"I don't know, but I have a feeling that witchcraft is involved," he answers, subconsciously walking over to Lucy and wrapping his arms around her waist from behind, resting his head on her shoulder.

"Well then, that just got intimate," I mumble as I stand there alone, no one with me, which is how I like it. Well, I spoke too soon.

“Hey guys,” Ace speaks as he flies in the door. Who the heck left the door open? Wait, no one did, those guard people let him through. Damn it. He stiffens as he realizes that there’s a demon in here. He looks around and his eyes zone in on Hunter. Why is it that people on my hit list always end up being the mates of my friends? I will never know. Ace gets prepared to place an illusion in people’s heads as he looks at me expectantly. I shake my head and he looks around in complete confusion.

“He’s my friend’s mate, and his heart is beating,” I whisper lowly, just so he could hear me. Dark angel hearing is better than vampire hearing, hah.

“His heart is beating?” Ace asks skeptically before he hears it himself.

“So, since Jordan and Xavier are… occupied… What shall the six of us do?” Zach speaks, throwing in a smirk.

“Maybe we can go to a laser tag place,” Jenna suggests, holding out her hands to form a fake gun and scanning the room with it.

“HELP ME!” May screams as she bursts through the doors with Luke close behind. He chases her around the room and she runs right into Jake.

“Jake! Hide me!” she yells as she stumbles behind him and he blinks in confusion. Luke’s eyes flash red, some serious shit is about to go down.

“You know this guy?” Luke hisses. Maybe we should hold him back…. Nah, let him have his fun.

“I-um- May likes carrots,” Jake blurts in defense.

“How do you know that?” Luke growls at him, stepping forwards.

“We go to school together, geez, calm your moobs,” May scolds as she comes out from behind Jake.

“He’s my age! How the fuck is he in high school?” Luke grumbles, watching Jake cautiously.

“We go to one of those 6 year high schools,” I answer for her. I’ve been quiet for too long, and I’ve subconsciously started leaning towards Ace. Ew, no, that isn’t going to happen.

“WE SHOULD GET TATTOOS!” Jenna exclaims, her eyes widening and she excitedly claps her hands.

“Sure,” I shrug. My wings form into a large tattoo when they’re down, and they look pretty freaking awesome.

“Ok! Let’s head to Walmart and get a few, then we can use the wet sponge to put them on, let’s go!” Jenna grins as she hops on Zach’s back and kicks him in the side, making him glare at her in a caring way and run off.  

“I want a piggy back ride!” May and Lucy squeal in unison. Luke and Hunter look at each other before crouching down and allowing the girls to hop onto their backs and they head outside and into the night. I look at my watch, we’re going to Walmart at 2:34 A.M. Terrific.

Kyou’s POV

“Are you sure you aren’t just doomed to an eternal life without a mate?” I ask myself as I look into the mirror. I can’t believe I fucking rejected Sora.

“I’m pretty sure we both are,” Lucas sighs, walking into the room. I twist around and shrug. Lucy and Hunter are mates, they’re allowed herenow.

“Fuck off Jacob,” I mock him, referring to the terrible movie which contains a sparkling vampire, which is way off, and the jealous pedophilic werewolf.

“It’s Lucas, and Sora rejected me, so we’re in the same place, but at least I have a second chance mate, being a werewolf and all,” he brags. He walks over to me and places him elbow on my shoulder, going to look over at whatever I was doing before he jumps back in shock.

"You are my second mate?" he stutters and my eyes widen. Fuck.

May's POV

 "I'm tireddddddd," I whine as Luke drives towards the closest Walmart, trailing behind Hunter's SUV.

"It's only 2:40 A.M.," Luke scoffs, keeping his eyes on the road and one hand on the steering wheel as the other seeks out my hand. 

"Vampires need sleep, well, want sleep," I groan as I lean my head against the head rest and ignore Luke's hand that goes to grasp mine. He frowns and looks at me as we stop at a red light. 

"What did I do?" he pouts. Why does he think that something's wrong? Nothing big is wrong. I'm just going to play along.

"Nothing," I mutter in a fake angry voice, crossing my arms and avoiding his gaze. 

"Oh, is Aunt Flow visiting?" he says in a tone full of pity. My eyes widen and I turn to face him.

"What? No!" I defend. I was not on my time for month. 

"No need to be embarrassed, I'll get you chocolate at Walmart if you want," he coos. Chocolate? No one can say no to chocolate. Chocolate it is.

"Ok, now let's get the chocolate, and tattoos," I grin. He smiles and takes my hands, intertwining our fingers and placing them on his leg.
